THE FOUNDATION OF EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT

JULIUS G. DIZON

Administrative Assistant I

DepEd - Tarlac Province

San Roque, Tarlac City

Educational management is an act of service that includes fulfillment of responsibility to improve the educational quality and experiences of students that sooner be future doctors, accountants, teachers, and professionals that serve humankind in a variety of ways.

Additionally, it includes essential skill sets such as leadership and management. An educational leader is required to perform exceptional and inferable leadership style and governance. A school leader must not only be fully credentialed. He or she must also be charismatic and can bring together all his constituents and make them believe and trust your visions. Moreover, the educational sector needs a leader that empowers and inspires everyone to give their best to maximize accomplishment and achievements. They are the ones who say "We" rather than "I". They make a participative community in school wherein everyone whether they are students, teachers, or parents, has a voice and is always heard and acknowledged. Leadership in educational management is producing satisfied and happy people rather than pressured individuals.

On the other hand, management in educational aspects is supervising tactical plans and actions of an educational institution. It organizes and ensures that daily plans are effectively executed and daily goals are efficiently attained. Additionally, effective educational management involves proper coordination to secure that programs are implemented the way they are designed.

Furthermore, educational management is a strategic series of steps that range from planning going to efficient execution. Not just that, but it is also a cycle that makes it constant. There will be no ending for educational management because it is designed to unstoppably serve and obtained desired recognition to further strengthens the citizens, school, community, several fields, and the entire country.

In addition, educational management is composed of five pillars that serve as its building blocks. The five pillars of educational management are decision-making, problem-solving, communication, information management, and effective team building. All of the prior-mentioned essentialities must be present to have successful educational management. All of these prerequisites are linked to each other wherein the absence of one factor will result in malfunctioned in others. For instance, without firm decision-making, problem-solving cannot guarantee that the solution will fulfill its mission which is to resolve discrepancies. Team building will not be effective without proper communication. Lack of communication can cause separation in the educational sector. Lack of communication signifies an absence of unity. In this case, only effective communication will build a competent and understanding team that strives for a common goal.

THE CAPACITY OF INSTRUCTIONAL GOVERNANCE

Mary Grace Flores Bungay

Administrative Assistant III

Iba Elementary School, San Jose West District

Department of Education, Division of Tarlac Province

An extraordinary and definable transformational leader and administration are requirements for instructional leaders. A school head must not only be properly competent but also captivating, able to unite all of his supporters, and able to inspire them to engage in and support your ambitions. They are the ones who use believe in unity.  They create a participatory culture in education in which everybody has a role and is constantly heard and appreciated.

To ensure that practices are adopted in the manner in which they are intended, efficient instructional administration requires good collaboration. It prepares and makes sure that regular plans are successfully carried out and daily objectives are successfully reached. Because academic management is intended to function without interruption and garner sought acclaim, there won't be an endpoint to it.

Reasoning, problem-solving, connection, data management, and excellent team collaboration are the five principles of educational administration. Good educational management requires the presence of each of these requirements. In the education industry, poor communication can result in division. Only information exchange in this situation will result in a capable and compassionate team.

A requirement for school leadership is an efficient decision. New instructional approaches require the application of methods and tools for analyzing, comprehending, and engaging with an investment plan, normative decision, and pedagogical population analysis. With employees working in it, students, teachers, investors, and money coming in and going out, the schooling institution is an organization.

The main factors influencing the decision-making process are budgets, personnel, and content. It will provide the most effective process for employing new workers. According to the recognized local or national course objectives, the syllabus and instructional strategies are selected. An educated management makes all important decisions while utilizing information exchange techniques.

To settle on choices that will have an impact, all students who attend the school must contribute or collaborate. Leaders must become more competent if they intend to collaborate with others. If the decision is rather crucial, the administration should make it. Although some decisions are more important and have wider implications, providing this service typically increases endorsement and acceptability.

Every institution of higher learning requires effective, trustworthy leadership to ensure smooth operations and top-notch teamwork. A prudent educator will consider a wide range of variables as constituents while choosing a plan of action. No one concept of educational management is accepted across all areas and institutions because the responsibilities and evolution of the profession vary.

THE COMMITMENT OF THE SCHOOL HEADS

CAMILLE T. SANTIAGO

Administrative Assistant II

DepEd Tarlac Province

San Roque, Tarlac City

An instructional leader is a person who is ready to manage things and lead people and also knows how to help society in uplifting growth and development. Many of them state their promises about changing the school into a better and unique one. However, the essence of it is its application of it.

After all, leaders have done their best to accompany those promises with real-life improvements. However, educational plans and programs are essential for the students to follow and participate in for the successful accomplishment of it. With that, the success of the leader becomes possible only because of the desire to make a change in the school and educational management. A good leader is encouraged by everyone to never stop reaching and pursuing goals through the right means. Therefore, leadership and management are the most important aspects of school success. There should also be unity to achieve school outcomes.

More of the students, teachers, and parents have high expectations about the school leader and how they will properly manage things. Moreover, educational leaders must have confidence and gain a lot of self-empowerment. Leader management is effective when your plan is efficiently and creatively made. An instructional leader is both a leader and a follower because leaders follow the choice of the majority. Or in some cases, they lead the majority into appropriate choices. Monitoring the development and growth of each component of the school must also be managed to ensure that everything is functioning.

In addition, educational management is about planning to succeed, promising to succeed, and making it possible to succeed for the students and the entire school to be proud and grateful. The success of educational management is measured if it leaves an impact on everyone and leaves a legacy for the school.

A strategy that places minimal emphasis on the instructional experience is used in public education policy and execution. If the educational process is not adequately managed, schooling as a structure does not deliver high-quality products and results. Acknowledging that effective school quality management must put a priority on student engagement, faculty participation, and gradual growth.

THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE ABSENCE OF V-M-G-O

JULIAN  CARLO N. DE LARA

Administrative Assistant II

DepEd Tarlac Province

San Roque, Tarlac City

Mission and vision statements are excellent tools for giving an organization direction, purpose, and consistency. Or else, the time and all other forms of investments spent developing them can end up being wasted. There are different explanations for why strategies fail so frequently.

There is a belief that every institution should be propelled by its purpose and/or ambition. But in truth, they're not. Establishing a distinct difference between mission and vision statements is important because they are typically not all that different from one another. The affirmed its commitment doctrine should not be adhered to. Any other format is acceptable and might even be more compelling and useful.

Since they are overly broad and vague and are therefore replaceable between organizations, most mission and vision statements fall short. Making it ambiguous may make it appear motivational, but in reality, nobody really understands whatever is intended. Make sure that your purpose and/or vision statements are as specific as you can so that they accurately represent your school. A strong purpose and vision statement inspire action. They don't just replicate an organization's operational practices as it would be boring and ineffective. The institution's area of status quo is clearly linked to excellent missions and visions, but they also cause "artistic friction" between what exists and what ought to be.

Know your priorities and target achievement. The intended beneficiaries of mission and vision statements is typically quite broad and frequently unimportant. The majority of the target audience beneficiaries are workers and students.  Only until they are also understood, experienced, and carried out do they truly constitute missions and visions. Motivating your staff to act morally is your main objective.

Concentrate your efforts on changing people's habits and beliefs. These matter a lot greater than the specific assertions you make. The statements don't convey a mission or a vision if your institution isn't purposed or vision oriented. Instead of generating them, create them. The focus ought to be on putting them into action and converting ideas into actions.

Many organizations, including schools, create vision and mission statements as part of their strategic planning process. For educational institutions, they serve as a public declaration of the aim of education. But are these comments actually helpful, or are they merely attractive but superficial? Depending on what things contain and the way they are utilized, they may be valuable. The academic performance, psychological health, and prevention programs of students are all significantly improved by promoting mental health in institutions.

School affiliation and fostering excellent psychological health were both stated by the majority of schools. A further study found a correlation between greater levels of educational accomplishment and the incorporation of both scholastic and psychological promoting health topics.

BUILDING NETWORKS FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES

ROSE ANNE Q. GARCIA

A variety both official and informal communication techniques are used daily by principals. Written, spoken, or visual communications can be preplanned or spontaneous, digital or non-digital, face-to-face or virtually. To receive a quick overview of your communications, use the table below.

Excellent leadership requires effective internal communication, which is just as crucial as communication with the outside world. Straight-forward and consistent messaging is something that effective leaders should support and set an example for. They must demonstrate empathy and open, two-way communication, and they must be committed to doing so.

Think about asking your team for their opinions on the issues you have been discussing about and your success in doing so. Examine your approach selections to see if they are the most important ones to concentrate on. As part for your evaluation, provide this rating and own thoughts.

Building trust and certainty is crucial to effective communication. This can be accomplished by visiting staff members in their offices or by taking a casual tour of the classrooms. Use this feedback technique a few times a year, and keep in mind that this proof of your development as a professional can also be considered in your evaluation.

Since communicating is a two-way street, listening to someone will reveal more about them than speaking will. Adopt a listening strategy to look for the "sounds" of learning in your school, such as signs of curiosity, investigation, sincere effort, shared thinking and cooperation, and teacher facilitation. Add each of these elements into your reservoir of school information and use them when necessary to advance your development.

The living standards of school, staff, guardians, and thus the neighborhood community are expected of principals. It is crucial that, as a head teacher, you fully comprehend how operations operate at your school. Principals must keep a positive attitude to be seen as approachable while also being a respected professional leader. So that everybody in the community understands what they view was what they get, be straightforward, consistent, and honest.

Consider how strongly you would object if someone said anything you considered offensive or in disagreement with.

PRINCIPLES OF ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT

MA. VIENNA FRAN I. VIRAY

Camiling, Tarlac

The word "administrative management" refers to the planning and control of an organization's whole structure. It entails keeping an eye on an organization's daily operations to ensure ongoing continuity in the fast-paced climate of today. A structured administrative structure, establishing an appropriate hierarchy of authority, identifying each person's primary duties, and effectively allocating tasks within the business are all aspects of the administrative management theory. The ability to manage information via people is a vital function for every firm. Administrative managers monitor the flow of information inside the company to ensure that all resources are used effectively for increased production.

Designing a defined administrative structure is a key component of administration management for an organization's efficient operation. According to this arrangement, there is a distinct hierarchy of authority from top to bottom indicating their duties and responsibilities.

It calls for an appropriate division of labor among the organization's many departments. Based on their abilities and credentials, workers are given tasks that let them work as efficiently as possible.

Administrative management makes sure that the organization has a network of information flow that is appropriate for decision-making. It focuses on creating a channel of communication where information can freely flow in both directions between managers and employees.

The theory of administrative management is focused with providing a detailed description of each employee's tasks and responsibilities. Each manager is given the power to have an impact on activities related to his specialty and area of responsibility.

It entails keeping a meticulous record of each organization's business activities. To avoid any anomalies, all accounts are properly maintained, recording each business spend and revenue on a regular basis.

THE IMPACT OF BUILDING MORALE AND SATISFACTION

LANCE JOY S. SIMON

Calibungan, Victoria, Tarlac

Employee productivity and effectiveness are enhanced when they are self-assured and have a sense of accomplishment. An ideal leader will exploit this by guiding them because it will lead to the organizational goal.

To transform people into assets for the company, a leader should work to instill in them the sense of fulfillment they are missing. And a leader's duty is to make use of those resources and guide the employee toward the advancement of the business. Nevertheless, the increased workload and new challenges may irritate the staff. Building their confidence and making sure the company's goal is a priority are vital aspects of leading the team and assisting them through this.

Your business may be significantly impacted by how your employees feel about their roles, their duties, and your firm. Your company will prosper if your workforce has good employee morale and a genuine sense of fulfillment in their work; conversely, if they don't, your company will suffer. Therefore, if you want your business to grow, you must prioritize raising staff morale and work happiness.

When morale is good and your staff members are happy in their positions, they'll be more involved at work, and that engagement can have a significant impact on your company. According to the 2017 Gallup State of the American Workplace Report, engaged workers are 41% less likely to be absent from work, 27% more productive, and have metrics for customer satisfaction that are 10% higher.

It won't be a nice place to work if your organization is full of employees who despise their employment. On the other hand, having a workforce that is enthusiastic about their work and arrives each day with a positive attitude can result in a far better working environment for both staff members and management. Clearly, if you want to create a vibrant, successful organization, you must improve employee morale and work satisfaction. However, how precisely do you do that? Make certain you're offering the essentials.

Make sure your staff have the necessities to feel content, engaged, and motivated at work before taking any action to promote strong morale and job satisfaction.

No matter what else you do to boost morale and work satisfaction, if these fundamentals aren't in place, your employees are very unlikely to be content with their jobs and are quite likely to go elsewhere for better opportunities. Therefore, be careful to provide your employees with the compensation, equipment, setting, and leadership they require to feel deeply motivated to perform their jobs.

You might believe you understand how to improve team morale and work satisfaction. However, the reality is that your employees are the only ones who truly understand what will affect employee morale and job satisfaction.

There are many things you can do to boost employee morale, but if anything inside to your company is demoralizing your staff, changes won't be noticeable. Because of this, it's critical to pinpoint any factors that may be contributing to low employee morale at your business and to act swiftly to address the issue.

APRIL S. CUNANAN

Administrative Assistant III

Concepcion East Central Elem School

Concepcion, Tarlac

FACING THE CHALLENGES IN MANAGEMENT

ELLAINE B. ZABLAN

Binauganan, Tarlac City

Managers who oversee teams frequently deal with a number of issues that are related to communication and productivity. Knowing how to identify these difficulties and deal with them improves a manager's self-assurance and capacity for team leadership. We go over the most typical problems with managing staff in this article, along with solutions.

Employees could go through phases where they are less productive than usual. It's critical to support employees' motivation because a decline in productivity might occasionally have an impact on other team members and overall objectives.

Managers can boost productivity by routinely reviewing corporate policies and practices. Review your present systems with a process analysis and reorganize any weak points.

Managers need to know when it's time to bring on a new team member to assist with departmental duties. When looking for a new applicant, it can be good to get advice from other managers and human resources specialists because the hiring process takes time.

Ask for assistance if necessary, when writing a job description, conducting interviews, and choosing the best candidate for the position. To find the candidate who will fit your team the best, think about having them do a practice work exam.

Making sure there is effective communication among teams is another difficulty managers have. Every team member has a unique personality, thus there is occasionally a risk for misinterpretation.

To make sure that employees are aware of exactly what is expected of them and when it is due, increase communication frequency. Restate the criteria that support the objectives of your team. Consider developing a message system that enables speedy communication throughout the office. If you like one method of contact over another, let them know.

When workers spend a lot of time on individual tasks, they may occasionally lose focus on collaboration. Managers should review the goal of a project in order to restore teamwork. Increased levels of motivation are frequently observed by managers who take the time to recognize the efforts of their team and make clear the goal of their work.

To provide everyone on your team the chance to collaborate with someone on a particular project, think about pairing them up. Another excellent method for teaching everyone how to collaborate more effectively is through team-building activities. Your exercises' content should be based on the difficulties your team is facing. For instance, concentrate on developing relationships if they need to get to know one another better.

MANAGING WITH CONFIDENCE

ADRIAN P. YADAO

Pinasling, Gerona, Tarlac

The majority of individuals will probably respond with something along the lines of "be more confident" when asked for advise on how to do effectively at work.

But there's a narrow line to confidence. If too many people judge you to be overconfident, they will label you as arrogant. On the other side, if you're too reserved and don't speak enough, people can think you lack self-assurance. In essence, confidence is performing in a way that communicates to those around you your knowledge of your strengths and the value you offer.

Recent studies reveal that when people are put in situations where they are expected to perform poorly, their performance plummets, supporting its significance. They essentially enter a bad mental zone and act in an undesired way. However, they typically have a good attitude and do much better when they are expected to perform well. Similar person, various expectations.

You'll be given more credit if your words and deeds are sincere. You can grow in your profession and employment thanks to this.

You'll be more inclined to take on difficult-yet-manageable undertakings. Your comfort zone will be pushed, which will motivate you to set and accomplish new objectives. Both of these are seen as traits of productive employees.

The most important thing is that companies will come to trust you with a project and see that you probably have a knack for inspiring people.

Since confidence enables you to talk succinctly and clearly, you'll be able to communicate more effectively. Confident communicators can make their points to clients and colleagues in a way that is clear and effective. Career advancement depends greatly on effective communication.

Interpersonal skills, professionalism, and enthusiasm—all byproducts of confidence—are among the top qualities companies look for when hiring or promoting a candidate.

Employers ultimately gain from confident workers because they contribute more positively, are more productive, are effective motivators, and set a good example for others. Additionally, brand perception is strongly influenced by individuals who are self-assured in customer service or sales roles.

THE SKILLS TO WIN

KEN EIRRON PAUL V. DOMINGO

San Pablo, Tarlac City

An administrator is someone who (a) oversees the actions of others and (b) assumes accountability for the accomplishment of particular goals through their efforts. According to this description, effective administration appears to depend on the technical, human, and conceptual development of three fundamental talents. Although it would be unreasonable to claim that these abilities are unrelated, there may be actual value in looking at each ability in isolation and developing it on its own.

Technical skill, as defined here, denotes knowledge of and competence in a certain type of activity, especially one requiring methods, processes, procedures, or techniques. When a surgeon, pianist, accountant, or engineer is working on a specific task, it is quite simple for us to picture their technical expertise. Technical proficiency is the combination of specialized knowledge, analytical prowess within the specialization, and comfort with the instruments and methods of the particular discipline.

Technical competence is likely the most well-known of the three abilities discussed in this article because it is the most tangible and because, in the age of specialization, it is the skill that the majority of people need.

As it is used in this context, human skill refers to the executive's capacity to contribute to groups productively and to foster teamwork among the group he supervises. Human skill is largely concerned with working with people, just as technical competence is primarily concerned with working with "things" (processes or physical objects). The way a person observes (and acknowledges the perceptions of) his superiors, peers, and subordinates, as well as how he acts in response, are examples of this skill.

The individual with fully advanced human skill is conscious of his own attitudes, presumptions, and beliefs about other people and groups; he is able to recognize the value and boundaries of these emotions. He develops the ability to grasp what others mean by their words and actions by admitting that there are opinions, perceptions, and beliefs that are different from his own. He is similarly adept in explaining to others what he means by his behavior in their own situations.

Such a person encourages others to engage in the planning and execution of those things that directly impact them to foster an environment of acceptance and security where subordinates feel free to express themselves without fear of criticism or mockery. He is aware of other people's wants and motivations in his organization to the extent that he can predict how different courses of action will likely be received and how they will turn out. Due to his sensitivity, he is able and ready to act in a way that considers how others may perceive him.

OPTIMISM AT ITS BEST

PATRICIA ELIANA S. CORTES

Administrative Assistant III

Cristo Rey Central Elementary School

Capas, Tarlac

Harnessing the power of optimism is one of the quickest and simplest methods to improve your effectiveness. Optimism is one of the most potent qualities of every transformational leader.

A positive outlook emphasizes problem-solving, effective teamwork, and transparent communication. Your capacity to manage your organization and team through both good and bad times depends on how optimistic you are. It's a prevalent misperception that people are either naturally optimistic or pessimistic. But optimism can be improved and reinforced, just like any other mindset. All it takes is some effort, perseverance, and, of course, optimism.

Asking yourself this question will help you to better understand the power of optimism. If you fill a glass with water halfway, is it half-full or half-empty? This age-old query and its response have historically shaped how we evaluate one another's viewpoints. You're an optimist if you perceive the glass as half-full. Pessimists view the glass as half-empty.

There are times when we as leaders are completely shocked to the core. It's possible that a crucial deal goes through at the eleventh hour, we lose a key team member, or someone makes an expensive error. The key for leaders in these circumstances is to maintain composure and purposefully take use of optimism's positive attributes.

There will be instances where something occurs to disturb your sense of tranquility that actually matters and will matter in ten years.

Every time one of those times arises, I remind myself that I'm traveling. My responsibility is to take pleasure in this voyage since the day will come when it is over. Even if I can't see it right now, I know that everything will be okay once it happens.

Remind yourself that everything will come to a landing one way or another as you encounter those situations. And no matter how impossible things may appear right now, they will all end in the end.

WAYS TO BE ORGANIZED

JASMINE JOYCE Z. SALAK

Santiago, Concepcion, Tarlac

You may increase your focus and happiness at work by getting organized. Don't worry if you lack organizing skills; they can be developed over time with the help of useful strategies and tools like digital to-do lists, automations, and templates.

It may seem as though being organized is a trait that one is either born with or without. But in reality, organization is a soft talent that can be developed just like any other.

Keeping things orderly lessens stress. Knowing where things are allows you to complete more tasks without feeling overloaded. This allows you to perform more demanding tasks at work without becoming overworked. It is simpler to set priorities and guarantee that the most crucial tasks are completed when you can see all of your work in one location.

Making time for the important work by getting organized. Due to these advantages, it's a high-impact technique to help yourself feel better and happier at your job:

1. A more accommodating schedule. Utilizing time management tools to plan and manage your schedule will help you eliminate time wasters and increase your attention and productivity.

2. Less tension When you are organized, you are aware of where things are, when they are due, and the actions necessary to complete tasks. There is no need to be concerned because each assignment has a deadline and is assigned.

3. More room for imagination. You know that mental to-do list that helps you stay on top of everything? That consumes a tremendous amount of valuable mental space. Your mind will have more room for imaginative, targeted work if you delegate these tasks.

4. Lower danger of burnout. You're more likely to make hasty decisions when you're feeling anxious and overburdened. As a result of the stress this causes, which builds up over time, burnout results. Feeling like there is too much to do and not enough time is a common cause of overwhelm. Having a system in place can help you feel in charge of your job and prevent overwork.

5. Higher productivity. Every task in the ideal organizational system has a goal, an owner, and a due date. Even if your work isn't flawless—and let's face it, whose is?—having an ordered approach cuts down on the time wasted on pointless activities and increases productivity.

THE EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL RESPONSE OF STUDENTS TO THE PREVALENCE OF ONLINE LEARNING

MICHAEL SCOTT R. BOSE

Registered Nurse

Ramos General Hospital

Tarlac City

Every academic setting must be prepared and equipped to tackle the significant issue of learners' emotional stability. Online educational institutions should be just as educated as their healthy peers. Students with greater mental well-being are more capable of learning and are more inclined to achieve their maximum potential.

Students' mental health is taken carefully by schools using Stride K12 Powered.  They strive to avoid many typical mental health concerns that children could experience in their educational contexts using a variety of strategies and tools. Moreover, it identifies signs of potential mental health problems and provides support to facilitate cognitive and family needs. The Stride K-12 humanizes online learning and reduces tension and worry.

A checklist of benefits provided by Stride K12 promotes the psychological well-being and mental health of students. Several people might be concerned that the prevalence of cyberbullying is rising. Nevertheless, studies suggest that online learning dramatically lowers bullying.

An online class provides more convenience and availability for students, their relatives, and professors outside of established school hours. Other students may become less anxious if they can go to class from home. Those who study at home are also subject to less group influence. Students who experience less peer pressure are more likely to adhere to their own opinions and values, which helps them develop a greater sense of themselves.

Online learning allows family members to participate more actively in their child's schooling and to take action in areas that aren't necessarily achievable with a typical brick-and-mortar school. Due to this special interaction, families can study collectively, strengthening their links and promoting successful education. For online classrooms powered by Stride K12, the tools provided to educators for Social Emotional Learning (SEL) are more sophisticated.

On the other side, the COVID-19 epidemic had a detrimental effect on people's mental health all around the world.  It is crucial to concentrate on the levels and related aspects of mental healthcare among students who were enrolled in online courses during the epidemic. In comparison to students in a typical setup, the rate of depression, tension, and pressure indicators among students during web-based learning was vastly greater.

Varied nations may experience multiple aspects of the pandemic's psychological effects due to variations in the pandemic's intensity.  A study entitled "The Mental Health Status and Associated Factors Among Medical Students Engaged in Online Learning at Home During the Pandemic: A Cross-Sectional Study From China" revealed that men were substantially more likely than women to experience despair and anxiousness. Boys could be less receptive to online courses than females. Males are more inclined to feel unpleasant feelings such as fear and despair due to various factors. Assistance for the virtual classroom was essential for reducing the detrimental effects on students' psychological adjustment.

When you are a student, it is especially important to pay attention to your dietary, resting, and workout routine. If you have good health, you'll not just improve your academic performance as well as be happier overall. The secret to healthy eating is to consume a variety of foods, including fresh fruit, and greens, including whole carbohydrates, while limiting fats, sugars, and sodium. To eat healthily, you are not required to quantify and balance your meals or monitor calories. Always, monitor your body mass index (BMI). Use fresh water instead of sweetened beverages.

According to experts, maintaining a healthy lifestyle in school is as simple as it gets. Most institutions offer learners access to medical treatment as well as a variety of physical exercises. Throughout their education, students strive to maintain good health and avoid getting sick.

Recognize the right serving size. Indulging in food won't make your worry disappear, so refrain from doing so. If you consume alcohol in moderation, you can have fun without endangering your body. Carry water with you throughout the day to ensure that you stay hydrated. To preserve their health, learners should consume more vegetables and fruits and fewer unhealthy snacks. Do not be embarrassed to ask for assistance from campus services if you are concerned that you may have an eating problem. A small treat every so often is a wonderful way to treat oneself for maintaining a balanced diet.

Students can prevent accidents and promote physical activity by stretching during and following exercise. Practice leisure sports offered by your university or create an extracurricular team to stay active while having fun. To fit in a routine, go to the gymnasium between those classes or right after you wake up. Use the appropriate safety gear at all times, regardless of the sport you are participating in.   To add variety to your regimen, try adding several styles of exercise, such as yoga, aerobic, and resistance training.

Keeping fit in focuses on students receiving a good night's sleep. Strive to catch a full good night's sleep if you have the opportunity. Generally, individuals need 7-8 hours of sleep to feel rejuvenated. Additionally, getting too little rest makes it harder to focus and do well in school. No matter how often you study, not getting sufficient sleep can affect how well you perform. To ensure that you all receive the rest you require, try to coordinate with your roommates. Establishing a nighttime practice can assist you if you are having problems falling asleep during the night. One can reduce stress by using these suggestions. Leisure and relaxation must also be a part of your schedule because you cannot work always.

Reduce the amount of time you spend working so you have time to sleep and recharge so you will not get sick. Contact your instructors and colleagues for assistance if you're experiencing overburdened. Most schools have resources that can assist students to unwind with a peaceful meditation retreat to relieve their stress. Take a moment to reflect and assess everything else you've got going on if you feel like you're overworked.

HRM IN EDUCATION 1

RUBY ANN L. FACUN

ADAS II, BILAD HIGH SCHOOL

Rapid economic growth and efficient provision of services are dependent on human assets. Advancement is not conceivable, the study emphasized, without a sufficient, talented, and passionate staff working within a strong human resource management program.   Educational standards are adjusted to reflect the quick social reforms occurring in our contemporary culture.

The establishment of formal mechanisms within an institution to ensure the effective and productive utilization of intellectual capital can be viewed as human resource management. The function of the personnel in any organization is determined by the basic management task of human resource management. It deals with the hiring or hiring processes, employee welfare, upkeep, education and retraining, promotions, motivational relationships, salary or incentives, transfers, and employee punishment. Out of all the resources needed for the creation of goods and services, human resources are without a doubt the most crucial. Socio-economic progress is impossible without a sufficient, skilled, and engaged workforce working under an efficient human resource management system. The schooling system, which is intended to realize educational goals, represents the policy, and it is the educator who essentially evaluates and executes that strategy.

A set of procedures and techniques for merging and preserving the teaching staff is known as human resource management in the educational setting. It involves fostering a positive culture, promotions and transfers, employee empowerment, safety of the students, protection, and health care services. The head of the school must maintain the welfare of the staff in order to achieve goals as effectively and maximally as possible. Through its departments, the education ministry is accountable for employing schools. For creating a reliable incentive system, having a methodical creator is essential. A nice wage helps to lessen wage disparities, boost employee morale, encourage them to work toward pay promotion opportunities, and lessen the tension between groups and employee complaints.

For efficient instructional performance, human resources are essential, and their significance has increased significantly over the past 20 years. HR specialists should be focused on their duties and continue to be active participants in the educational system. HR can give education a strategic advantage if it is effectively handled. The key function and the practical role are the two main specialized functions that human resource management must play.

BOOKKEEPING IN THE EDUCATIONAL SECTOR

JASPER JAY P. GONZALES

Administrative Assistant III, Bilad High School

An organization's budgetary decisions are systematically recorded, organized, and reported through the process of bookkeeping. To avoid issues during revenue recognition that could negatively impact the integrity of the accounts, a bookkeeper should make sure money transfers are timely and accurately documented. Collecting client revenue, calculating, and recording asset loss, and creating financial reports are a few of the monetary operations that are included in the accounting process. One of the predetermined bookkeeping structures that guarantee record accuracy is the concept of double entry. Every operation has an impact on both sides of a ledger book, which forms the foundation of double entry.

The role of a bookkeeper in the educational realm is to keep track of records and confirm the validity of the processes used for documenting financial information, bookkeepers in the Department of Education aim to maintain and safeguard the books, documents, and schedules of the Division Office. This is necessary in the order to prepare timely and precise reports that will help the leadership make informed choices.

A safe and satisfying professional path, bookkeeping opens the door for anyone to compete globally in any field. Despite the fact that duties will change from position to position, all bookkeepers must be proficient in a broad variety of fundamental skills.

Record keeping is still a crucial skill for bookkeepers, notwithstanding the transition from paper to digital records. You'll be able to keep on the peak of your gameplay if you have a solid understanding of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and other common applications.

The duties of a bookkeeper go well beyond simply keeping track of receipts and expenditures. Protecting the fiscal management of your organization is a crucial aspect of your job. Bookkeepers who are successful can spot errors and fix them. Bookkeepers interact with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including customers and upper executives.

The talks you have with your accountant may feel constrained and fruitless if they frequently utilize accounting and bookkeeping jargon. To be able to provide sharper services, competent bookkeepers may choose to specialize in a certain profession or industry. They can also give you monthly performance reports on your school and have a concept of what success indicators are like in your sector. It need not be difficult to locate a competent bookkeeper, but once you do, you probably want to continue with them. A trustworthy bookkeeper will strive to provide top-notch services and appreciate the significance of every decision

THE POWER OF MOBILIZING AND DIRECTING

Alexander Delos Reyes Lacambacal

Sitio Malempec Cabayaosan Paniqui, Tarlac

The practice of mobilizing and directing the skills and efforts of educators, students, and guardians toward accomplishing shared educational goals is known as educational leadership. There are certain leadership challenges that can be solved through a  solid, properly thought-out strategic plan can.

The strategic plan statistics from the pre-assessment explain how and where the school will accomplish its goals and objectives in order to increase accomplishments and successfully engage its stakeholders. Additionally, it offers details on potential chances, factors influencing an institution's development, upcoming educational initiatives, preferences of the students, and the degree of academic competition, enabling the school to comprehend not only its institutional situation and students but also other factors. It is much preferable to thoroughly explore the demands and require transformation and acquire for greater outcomes before moving forward with further procedures to ascertain whether they can fulfill their commitments without another problem arising.

After doing analysis and gathering sufficient information, goals and objectives will be defined. This serves as the general plan for the institution. Because it outlines your goals for your administration and your constituents, it serves as a beginning point. You are giving your school a clear direction by identifying particular goals, which will help you maintain consistency. A number of strategies could be used to achieve these goals and objectives.

To keep everyone in line and preserve order, this is school policy. To avoid conflict and foster a positive working environment instead, those who violate it should be punished appropriately. Everyone may also have access to a document that provides instructions on how to handle unexpected circumstances. Similar to the vertical marketing structure, everyone is required to abide by a rule set forth by those in positions of power in order to foster a sense of oneness among the group.

Allocating and directing the workloads to various departments is important for furthering the achievement of the goals and objectives. Ensure that workloads and targets are reviewed in detail and are consistent with the overall objectives. A school can minimize time spent while maximizing results in this way. Then it's time for you to correctly carry it out. Strategic and tactical activities must be developed and successfully carried out after listing all the goals, objectives, policies, budgetary allocations, partnerships, and job allocations. Plans are pointless without actions, as the proverb says. Actions open the door to achievement.

Last but not least, remember to assess your performance. As long as the development is being watched, any possible problems can be immediately resolved. An institution can create a more efficient distribution plan through review.

FILLING THE GAPS FOR COMPREHENSIVE LEARNING

Ivy Joy Mayo Fabros

Purok 5, San Francisco West Anao, Tarlac

Disagreement with other children and internal conflict with educators can students' motivation to learn. Distinct self-awareness, intellectual, and developmental disorders can have an impact on a child's welfare, well-being, and learning capacity effectively. To stay abreast regarding their children's well-being, parents should converse with them and ask for information about the circumstance at school. The student's desire to advance some aspirations may hinder their ability to explore others. It is critical for teachers to consider how to construct courses so that students remain motivated.

Specific students may experience physiological, psychological, or even other personal issues that impair their desire to succeed.   Factors hinder not only the person who is having problems but also the other schoolchildren whose inspiration may be influenced by their colleague's conduct. Children with low self-esteem refrain from what they believe is beyond their abilities. It is preferable for them to avoid effort or postpone rather than risk attempting, neglecting, and starting to feel even less good about themself. Children are taught at home that schooling is unimportant and that those who lack the expertise and capacity to learn.

Students' attitudes reflect those of their teaching staff. Students are more inclined to presume in themselves and in their competencies if teachers are aware they can gain knowledge. Numerous disengaged students are simply reacting adversely to stress. These students are trying to conquer their malfunction anxieties through indecision or denial.

Children must believe that their families value education. Illustrate to your children the value of educational adventure and education. Furthermore, teach your children that failure is a natural component of the learning process and allow them to underperform without consequence. Children who are not frightened of failing are much more inclined to take on academic challenges.

Students who are naturally motivated put forth the minimum amount of effort to accomplish projects in the most straightforward manner possible. Extrinsically motivated students who performed in order to obtain compensation or escape prosecution. Extrinsic reward emerges only as long as outer remuneration is available. So, when it comes to rewarding good work, use caution.

Pick your battles carefully. Prepare a list of undesirable behavior and their repercussions. Refuse to ground your child perpetually or remove all important belongings. Choose a subject where your kid performs best and concentrate on it. If your child achieves achievement in a physical education and sports setting, you can collaborate to identify the components of that success.

SUPPORT MECHANISMS OF LEADERS

IRISH ANN M. FABROS

Purok 5, San Francisco West Anao, Tarlac

Principals can encourage teachers by recognizing and rewarding those who consistently go above and beyond. Appreciation has always been impactful in acknowledging somebody's fine job and informing them that one‘s efforts are not in vain. A contribution can help to boost a professor's trust and convince them of the level of their work.

School heads must understand that well enough and productive teachers are a critical asset in achieving the school's end objective. Teachers require up-to-date data on how to enhance their academic performances. A commendable school principal is aware of how schooling is evolving and strives to keep their teaching assistants stimulated and current with the times.

Involving educators in strategy implementation decision-making is an effective way to keep them engaged and engaged in their work. When a principal involves the teaching assistants in strategic planning, they have the opportunity to engage. offer input, share ideas, propose new projects, and guide the line service position.

Administrators can help encourage educators by forging bonds and building a relationship. To accomplish this, it is necessary to share and request details about one's personal life, preferably without being intrusive. Teachers who are at ease as well as optimistic in their job roles are more efficient and productive.

Powerful motivational educators and serving as a role model isn't always the main priority for some school heads. To be well-informed and well-informed, a headmaster must be slowly learning. They must remain current on modern instructional hypotheses and continuous innovation. They would be able to instruct as well as counsel their instructional staff for them to have a bigger and more powerful and good career.

Tutoring entails assisting teachers in identifying and supporting each school's specific needs to continue improving as educators. A principal must help teachers improve and embolden their strong points by doing the following: Determine which methods and tools work best in the school environment and which ones they prefer to use. Most notably, they put the school on the path to educational excellence by instilling a culture of self-improvement.

Chain of Change: Learners’ Progress Amidst 21st Century Challenges

GLADY B. PINEDA

GENERAL TINIO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Teacher III

Truly, teaching is an act of positivity. Teachers do their finest to help varied kinds of learners strategize and contemplate for solutions in any problems they face, learn lessons well, and apply what they grasped in their daily lives.

With all the things happening today in finding solutions to rising problems in students’ lives and to satisfy the expanding demands and expectations of society, education must continue to change in the future. It has undergone significant change since its inception. As a result, as compared to prior centuries, teaching and learning are very different in the 21st century.

With the emphasis on globalization and social aspects, there are several important variables influencing change in education today, including: Information and Communication Technology (ICT), cultural and social inclusion, as well as changes in the economy, jobs, and enterprises. To flourish in the modern world, 21st century learners must also develop a wide range of attributes and talents. To meet the needs of the developing learners, it is necessary to nurture the abilities of communication, teamwork, global awareness, creativity, and problem solving.

One challenge that students today experience is the presence of social media. Social media enables students to interact with individuals from all over the world and broaden their knowledge because it has no geographical restrictions. Social media helps in acquiring pertinent information through various internet platforms when students are confused while studying. However, social media platforms have a significant role in the distraction and mental stumbling blocks. Students today sometimes find it difficult to focus on their studies and prefer to browse social media. All of this results in time waste with little educational value.

Time Management is another problem which is evident on students’ learning life today. Time management is a common issue for students. The tendency for ambitious people to underestimate the amount of time and effort necessary to finish a task is one of the most frequent errors. Effective time management is associated with greater academic performance and lower levels of anxiety in students; nonetheless, many students find it difficult to find a balance between their studies and their daily lives. This behavior is typical of A-type overachievers who believe they can keep everything under control and never turn down an opportunity, no matter how demanding.

Furthermore, adjustment problems are also considered common problems among students today. The students will encounter many individuals from various backgrounds. In addition to racial and cultural distinctions, there are also variations in sexual orientation, religion, values, and way of life. Having to start afresh with unfamiliar people can feel overwhelming. As a result, making new acquaintances can be challenging. Additionally, it offers students the ability to create a new identity. Both sentiments of acceptance and rejection will be experienced. It takes energy to deal with novel concepts, unfamiliar individuals, and the potential for rejection.

Lastly, teenage depression which is a widely common challenge occurring today is more likely to appear or be triggered by a variety of reasons, such as concerns that lower self-esteem, such weight, peer issues, persistent bullying, scholastic difficulties, or having experienced or witnessed violence, like physical or sexual abuse. Most of a person's mental capacity is required to produce and process unsettling thoughts when they are depressed or experiencing worry. This might make it difficult for the learner to focus on thinking positively and tire them, which hinders their ability to learn.

Despite the challenges that students encounter today, progress is still evident. To ensure that students are prepared for the future, educators try to address the ongoing chain of changes in the environment by modifying the way learning is structured (Bolstad, Roberts, & McDowall, 2010).

21st century teaching and learning has incorporated several crucial elements to prepare the road for success to adjust today's education to correspond with the changing world. Incorporating research-driven and project-based learning, encouraging students to identify real-world problems, and promoting active learning that is largely outcome-based are all ways to make sure students are prepared for the future (Shaw, 2008).

When teaching curriculum material, teachers use these elements in a variety of ways to engage and inspire 21st century learners. For instance, Bell (2010) pointed out that when students engage in project-based learning, a method of instruction that teaches curriculum topics through a project, they have a deeper comprehension of the current study issue. Teachers have noticed that students are more motivated to learn now that the method is student-driven and teacher-facilitated (Bell, 2010).

Teachers really do have a significant impact on how students are inspired and motivated to face the problems of the 21st century. Teachers are the greatest act of hope, as Wilcox once expressed. There is always hope for difficult students to become better learners in a chain of improvements.

LEADING WITH A HEART

CHRYSHIELDA A. QUIBUYEN

Administrative Assistant II

Tagumbao National High School

Gerona, Tarlac

If you've been reading and listening to Servant Leadership Institute content over the years, you've probably noticed that we've urged you to "lead with your heart..." But what exactly does that mean?

It means that servant leaders do not use traditional "command and control methods" to lead others (i.e. I tell you what to do, when to do it and to do what I say; you supply the deliverables). When people are led from the heart using a servant leadership approach, they perform better because the leader treats them with dignity and respect. The leader has taken the time to develop trusting relationships with employees, communicating the meaning and purpose of what the organization does on a regular basis.

How do we "lead with our hearts" in the real world? "These suggestions can help turn this leadership mantra into a mindset."

Never forget that employees are people first and foremost. They all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their title or position in the organization. Treat them as you would like to be treated in every interaction.

It all begins with hiring for character rather than competence. No matter how brilliant an individual is, if their character is lacking, they will never fit in with the group.

Every employee (every person) has basic needs that must be met. But, beyond the necessities, they want to do something meaningful. As a leader, it is your responsibility to make their job meaningful. Discuss the organization's mission and how employees fit into that mission on a regular basis.

Many people mistake servant leadership for a soft leadership style that overlooks poor performance. That is simply not the case. If you value an employee, you want them to succeed, be accurate, and contribute to the organization. Servant leaders show courage and confront the problem, but they do so with the employee's best interests in mind.

Plant the seeds of servant leadership, but don't expect to reap the benefits every time. An employee may not "get it" until you are no longer their leader.

Help employees understand that they do not need to be afraid to share their goals with you. Work with each individual to develop a development plan, even if it means developing them outside of the organization.

All of these suggestions have one thing in common: involvement. If you want to serve people, you can't lead from the sidelines. Strike a good balance between being a leader and a counselor. "Lead from your heart," and meet employees where they are.

Perks and Importance of Independent Learning

JOLINA M. LUCAS

TINDAHANG PINOY COMMODITIES INC., TARLAC

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." —Maimonides. The key insight in this phrase is that while helping other people out might be advantageous at the time, if you don't instruct them on how to do it on their own, they will remain dependent. One of the most beautiful aspects of teaching and education is that once knowledge is shared or acquired, authority and capacity are accumulated for all times. Education should encourage students to discover and explore more of the world by igniting their passion for gaining knowledge, rather than filling their empty minds all the time with knowledge given to them by their teacher. It should more closely allow students to do the essential tasks, encouraging them to take risks.

One of the most essential lessons a parent or teacher can convey to their children or learners is how to be self-sufficient. Self-reliance is another term for "autonomy," and teaching children to be autonomous, to make decisions and act for themselves, is crucial to their future prospects and well-being. As parents and teachers, we must assist our students in acting and doing things on their own to develop their independence and to learn that the world will not always adjust for them; they should be the ones who find a solution to their own problems, but let us also remind them that it is okay to ask questions, especially when they don't know what to do or are having difficulty doing some task. Various studies have shown that independent learning fosters a greater sense of and adherence to one's aptitude for methods of learning because such folks take ownership of their own expertise. It is well established that a person's work is more productive when they are more focused. But being in charge of your own development brings you far more perks than just enhancing productivity. Some benefits are: They learn self-motivation since they are free to choose their own grounds for success. Their resilience to external obstacles is increased because they have the conviction that they are capable of taking care of themselves. And they can make wise decisions as a result of having the freedom to weigh all available possibilities before selecting the one they believe to be the best.

Human development includes education as a crucial component. A person's awareness of and capacity for influencing their own intellectual development increases as they mature. Individuals who are self-motivated can profit in many ways, not just in terms of their academic success but also in terms of their personal growth. Self-motivated learning boosts the probability of victory, elevates levels of happiness, and has beneficial outcomes in all realms of human existence.

Technologies and the Educator’s Function in Curriculum

JOLINA M. LUCAS

TINDAHANG PINOY COMMODITIES INC., TARLAC

According to George Couros, "Technology will never replace great teachers, but in the hands of great teachers, it’s transformational." With the aid of technology, teachers can act as guides who help learners learn new knowledge at their own pace. It improves the ways learners progress in their understanding, making it much more engaging, dynamic, and alluring, gaining their attention and maintaining them fascinated, resulting in higher learning, comprehension, and execution.

Education has greatly improved as a result of the proliferation of electronic-based information and communication technologies (ICTs), which are rapidly changing social and economic conditions all over the world. This is accomplished by launching innovative methods for disseminating and enabling access to information and knowledge transfer. According to Khorrami-Arani (2001), computers have had a major influence on society, notably in the area of education. In most schools, computer systems are a powerful tool that is increasingly being used in all curriculum skills. Teachers can effectively accommodate the expanding population of learners who seek equal access to education with the aid of technical innovation. This could support teachers in efficiently managing their learners. When providing high-quality education via distant methods rather than erecting substantial infrastructure and facilities, it is also environmentally sustainable. Teachers can use technology to digitize and computerize examinations. They may consist of adaptive testing, complex simulation assessments, and software applications. The rapidity with which students obtain feedback due to technological advances is another advantage. Online or through the school's learning management system, teachers can give better instructions on their students' tasks.

The importance of digital learning in education is essential because it allows incumbent teachers to integrate innovative methods in their classrooms. Teachers can incorporate and solidify the educational environment for learners in the classroom. It empowers the educator to have innovative, creative, and unbiased interactions with their learners. In order to strengthen their connections, educators might also communicate. It also gives students access to a wide range of web resources, which stimulates them to collect data and thereby develop greater independence. Technology in education can boost morale. Throughout lessons, teachers can connect with learners, but learners can also converse with each other as well. Learners can participate in online classes and training activities. Learners can complement one another while exchanging ideas and beliefs during group work. Technology also makes it easier for students to interact with educators, giving them the chance to express their concerns about the curriculum and seek more clarification on problematic theories.

Technology is merely a tool, to put it simply. The teacher is the most essential factor in encouraging the learners and convincing them to comply. No matter how sophisticated or brilliant a computer program is, it cannot and will not displace educators. Technology could indeed compete with a teacher's expertise and life experiences. But with the help of technological advances, education will improve and become more interesting.

The Value and Significance of Education

JOLINA M. LUCAS

TINDAHANG PINOY COMMODITIES INC., TARLAC

"The more you read, the more things you will know, and the more you study, the more places you will go," as Dr. Seuss famously remarked. The more knowledge and wisdom a person possesses, the more windows of opportunity will open up for him or her to forge ahead and pursue personal development. Education provides us with several opportunities and possibilities that can assist us in becoming better people and achieving goals beyond our horizons. Education provides us with a ticket to explore and discover things that are both necessary and challenging but will certainly help us grow as individuals. Education is essential for everyone to acquire in today's competitive world.

There are several ways to study in the modern world, including face-to-face instruction, online learning, and blended learning. The traditional classroom-based teaching and learning approach is referred to as "face-to-face." This method of education entails classroom meetings with a teacher. In this context, the instructor sets the learning pace, while the learners follow along passively. Since there is live interaction between the instructor and the learner, face-to-face learning is thought to be beneficial. Asynchronous learning material, which enables students to interact with course content at their own pace from any location at any time, is most frequently referred to as "virtual learning." The idea of integrating in-person and online learning into a hybrid approach is known as "blend learning," which enables students to gain from both methodologies.

Every person who aspires to thrive in life and innovate knows that education is an essential instrument. It provides advice on how to overcome obstacles as a result. The insights gained during the teaching and learning process help every person become more internal in their regular lifestyle. It provides various opportunities to improve one's life prospects, consequently fostering job advancement. We can receive education anywhere: at school, at home, on the street, or somewhere else. There is no excuse for not receiving an education. Education's goal is to fill our empty minds with fresh and valuable knowledge that will help us grow and improve our abilities to think, analyze, and discover the world around us.

Without education, neither the daily comforts nor the liberties would have been conceivable. Education is essential in our lives because we require it from the point in time we wake up until the moment we sleep. Learning can aid individuals in developing into productive citizens who can recognize morality. Education is not just about learning things from books; it can also involve getting real-world experience far outside the academy. In relation to the world around you, education can help you build into the finest, most condensed version of yourself.

CARING IS LEADING

DAISY LYN L. RAFAEL

Administrative Assistant III

Nambalan National High School

Sta. Ignacia, Tarlac

When individuals and organizations of like-minded people comprehend and care about the values and circumstances of other individuals and groups, that understanding, and compassion is an essential part of an organization. By expressing and accepting care in our interpersonal interactions, whether at work and at home, it is displayed every day. We communicate compassion every day as those working in the health, wellness, and well-being industries.

Caring management conducts on-boarding and exit interviews with an emphasis on retention, offers promotion from within and assistance with clear career paths, provides for autonomy at the employee's workstation, celebrates meaningful work opportunities, shares meaningful results with employees, develops shared values, purpose, mission, and vision with employees, and offers opportunities for both personal and professional development.

In a successful organization where everyone benefits, the overall value of caring is crucial. Following several of the examples below will show this:

Most successful working relationships start with strong interpersonal connections. This is true regardless of whether they are at the same level or different levels within the organization.

Win-win relationships can be established and sustained in several contexts, including at onboarding, active mentoring, and coaching throughout the employee's career.

The win-win attitude fosters the shared values, purpose, goals, vision, and outcomes since it states that "workers win when the organization wins, and the organization wins when the employees win."

By supporting chances to strengthen supervisor-employee relationships, the business can exhibit positive organizational health and the Win-Win Philosophy.

The successful Win-Win Philosophy often gets started at the executive level as a business philosophy or policy as part of the workplace environment or culture. The local environment and subculture are probably more influential than the overall central influence when it comes to day-to-day effects.

We have the makings of a Win-Win Philosophy when workers believe the company is the best place for them to work, top management believe workers are the company's most precious resource, and there is a mutual feeling of concern.

Rediscovering and Enjoying the Marvels of Biological Science

Amor C. Dela Cruz, LPT

Teacher II, Dr. Ramon De Santos National High School, Nueva Ecija, Region III

Science is an extremely fascinating subject. With all the mysteries and the wonders of the world and the universe made more vast and undefined by the discoveries, the milestones, and the inventions, brought about by all sort of human activities, Science is indeed astonishing, stupefying and impressive. Science has explanations for everything yet the more we know and the greater we become aware, the more questions are uncovered. Man grows even more curious and inquisitive that is why answers become more elusive. There is really an infinity and an unreachable horizon when it comes to screening all that there are to be revealed in the field of Science.

Biology is one major branch of Science that is commonly heard about. Once asked, we can instantly answer that it is the study of life. We do know that it deals with all living things. It is actually a popular subject in schools. It is either a favorite or a dreaded subject. For some it is a best-loved subject because it entails practicality for the simple reason that life is essential and everyday there are life challenges like diseases, health conditions, or even just the way to survive. To many, it is a horrendous subject because it requires massive memorization, enormous discernment, and immense decryption or decipherment.

There are incalculable marvels of Biological Science. Mitosis, mutation, albinism, hypoglycaemia, melanoma, sepsis, speciation, apoptosis, catalysis, cioning, denaturation,   and abscission are just a small parcel among the infinite natural mysteries of biological processes. With the intrusion of man; cloning, in vitro fertilization ( IVF ), genetic engineering, and cryogenics are a just a few of the too many to name wonders. It is a delight to the human intellect knowing that a human egg cell from this decade can be preserved and wait for its sperm in shining armour for it to get fertilized three decades after. On the other hand, it is confusing, mind boggling and startling to know that a man can now be made a woman with the penis regenerated into a vagina and vice versa.  Nature being violated is one nerve-racking milestone if it can or it should be called such.

With the preceding discussion, it is note worthy to declare that one strategy for teaching Biological Science as a subject is the strict adherence to prescript, protocols and etiquette. Students should be taught that no matter how advance Science may get, we still have to stick or abide by norms and standards and there should really be no violation of nature. Often times, Science, specially Biology violates the law of nature. Such violations may result to disasters of magnitude. An example of which is biological warfare. As teachers of Biology, we should inculcate upon the minds of our stusents that there are protocols to abide by and etiquette to be followed in order to uphold the dignity of nature and to protect it from being profaned or desecrated, because when nature fights back, we humans are of no match. We must learn from the lessons of the proliferating pandemic.

One important lesson that must be taught to our learners is that, “Science should uphold and not restrict nature”.

Numeracy skill magnanimously contributes to the development of problem solving and critical thinking skills of learners at young age. It serves as a pre-requisite skill in dealing with lessons in Mathematics in higher grade levels. Hence, it is important that learners have a well-developed numeracy skill. With this, this action research aimed to ascertain the effectiveness of mathe-matchy card game as a hands-on, minds-on strategy to improve the numeracy skills of Grade 1 learners at Col. Ruperto Abellon, Sr. Memorial School. It was conducted during the school year 2021-2022. The participants of the study were the 20 purposively selected Grade 1 learners identified to have poor numeracy skills. A 20-item numeracy skills test was used as data gathering tool while mean and Wilcoxon-signed ranked test were used as statistical tools for the data analyses and interpretation. The results of the study indicated that before the intervention was implemented, the Grade 1 learners have Very low numeracy skills. This implies that these learners need to be taught thoroughly as regard numeracy skill. On the other hand, after the mathe-matchy card game was implemented as an intervention for improvement among the Grade 1 learners, the findings showed that the learners obtained a Very high numeracy skills. This shows that the learning intervention was effective. This could be attributed to the fact that the intervention is interactive in nature which the learners enjoyed while they are learning to develop the aforementioned skills in math. This is also a manifestation of a learner-centered and game-based principles of teaching which provided promising benefits both to learners and teachers as evidenced by the result of this study. The intervention provided the learners with opportunities to explore new ways of learning math and consequently develop numeracy skills. Hence, it is recommended that Mathematics teachers should sustain this intervention in the class to address problems on numeracy in the classroom setting or even in a school-wide manner. Learners as well should actively participate in this kind of educational interventions given to them so that they will enable themselves to become academically prepared and achieve holistic development.

DEVELOPING ASSERTIVE COMMUNICATION

It is quite amazing how some people have devoted their time, abilities, and resources to improving the lives of others. It is thrilling to witness the strength that results from a team of people working together to achieve great things who share similar ideals. People who are great at conversing can create a multiplier effect. Have you ever wondered how famous motivational speakers like Dave Ramsey, Tony Robbins, and Nick Vujicic significantly affect the lives of other people with their words?  The impact each person has when they band together is more akin to one hundred times one than with just one. No man is an island, which is why communication is essential.

Communication inevitably plays a crucial role in a person's life and career. Conversing and maintaining a good sense of thought while doing so is indeed a skill that one could ever wish to have. However, one must be mindful when using their tone in speaking. People should be careful on their manner of speaking or how they carry themselves while uttering or expressing their thoughts because they might become quite aggressive and sarcastic or be too passive at times. Some individuals are good at communicating but not at gaining people's trust, while others are brilliant at both. It is simply because they lack assertiveness in presenting their opinions.

Assertive communication is described as the capacity to talk and engage in a way that recognizes and respects the rights and opinions of others while simultaneously standing up for one's rights, needs, and personal limits. Individuals should strive to have it since being assertive will make the conversation better, face less stress, gain more trust, and build more confidence. Individuals that use assertive communication skills appreciate the other person's opinions and desires while also honestly stating their own and seeking to find the best solution to the situation. Effective communicators may obtain what they want out of each interaction while also making the other person pleased.

Passive communication, on the other hand, frequently leads to others not taking them seriously, whereas forceful behavior often results in sentiments of animosity. Being trustworthy fosters a strong bond; and having assertive behavior shows that individuals are both brave enough to stand up for their rights and they are in control of what they are saying, and more importantly, how they say it. Assertive communication entails speaking exactly your mind while avoiding hurting the other person's feelings. This might include rejecting items believed to be not a good fit for you, but then expressing why. The word "because" is a major game changer in communication. No one will be angered if presented with solid arguments and speak them with conviction. So, expressing "No" is acceptable, but explaining "Why" is preferable. If one can do conversing in a way that is honest, appropriate, respectful, and direct, the chance of understanding for both parties is expected. Then, he is utilizing assertive communication.

Learning to be assertive takes time and effort, which cannot be accomplished in a single day. To speak assertively, people should make softer eye contact so that their communication does not send a confrontational atmosphere and the person they are speaking to is not intimidated. Facial expressions and posture, interestingly, have a role in portraying assertiveness. There should be a balance between being dominant and nice, and there should be no signs of dissatisfaction, rage, or tension. There are different communication styles that one can ponder when dealing with people. In an organization with various personalities, each has its perception, point of view, and emotions, the possible conflicts and disagreements may arise in any given situation. But what matter is, both parties felt the importance of each and the discourse ended peacefully because assertive communication is applied.

Some people enjoy having wishy-washy conversations and going around in circles. Using clear, straightforward, and explicit language would make the message or idea more comprehensible. Make certain that the communication style is not frightening. Take note of word choices and avoid pointing fingers. Words may be quite painful. When requesting a resolution to a problem, always use positive words. Respect is essential and demonstrating care for others despite their differences will keep the conversation healthy and safe.

It is significant that one must learn to communicate effectively to create a healthy relationship, friendship, or career. Everyone wants to have a happy, healthy, and quiet life, as well as have excellent relationships with others. We should be honest about communication because a lack of communication will lead to more inescapable problems in the future. Assertive communication is a tool that can be used to create a more harmonious relationship with others because having harmonic mentality is necessary for a harmonious connection.
