The continuous widespread of the coronavirus pandemic has become a remarkable disaster worldwide. Educational organizations which include the primary, secondary and tertiary education institutions abandon the face-to-face instruction and transitioned fast to online learning in mid-spring semester 2020, with a little warning. Educators were braved to implement new strategies and quality assurance of education for which it suffices the student needs as to what extent that their online educational progress were attained and their personal safety were secured. One example of the pandemic’s substantial ambiguity and immediate crises is the shift to digital learning modality of education which have impacted the educational institutions, students, teaching and non-teaching personnel’s as well as individuals in positions of leadership.
A precise and decisive leadership are needed for time-critical decision making in times of crisis situations. The invisible virus has hit the world with no warnings or cautions that brought us with different variants in different times and waves during the covid-19 pandemic. Furthermore, it is a problem and a concern that must be solved domestically and globally.
According to Warren Bennis, “Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality” so everything should have a goal. A goal to make all the situation to be ease especially into the current setting of educational system we have now, the importance of a precise and strong leadership in all type of learning can uplift and help the institution to achieve its goal to have a better education that can be accessible to everyone even though the presence of the global covid-19 pandemic is still there. Always look on the bright side of the pandemic to surpass the education gap and to look for opportunities to sustain and improve the promotion of education. Cooperating and sharing leadership with higher education sectors for the implementation of flexible teaching learning and teaching options, approaches, strategies and systems to support continuous learning and to sustain students’ passion for excellence amidst this pandemic.
As the widespread of the virus continues, we know that the new normal we had to today implies the inevitability of change wherein one of the reason why the schooling of students were interrupted and it affects their future lives, and if we are to determine or formulate more inclusive, fair and ethical systems that can support equality education for every child and human being, we can be engaged and shared leadership towards sustaining excellence through our passion, commitment and dedication to help, to lead and to serve the way for huge change for the betterment, not only for our sake but also to influence good deeds and contribution to the community especially for the young ones.
THE EXTERNAL FORCE THAT PUSHES STUDENTS TO SUCCEED

When teachers include parents in school meetings or events, and parents volunteer their help at home and at school, this is referred to as parent engagement. Parents agree to prioritize their child's educational goals, and teachers agree to listen to parents and provide a space for collaboration.
According to National Coalition for Parent Involvement in Education research, students with involved parents have higher grades and test scores. Parents who are active supporters of their children's learning provide their children with the best chance for academic success. According to research, parental involvement can benefit children of all ages on a developmental level that extends beyond academics.
Children who have engaged parents are more likely to achieve higher grades, graduate from high school, and demonstrate better social skills and classroom behavior. They're also less likely to have low self-esteem. Need to be redirected in class or develop behavioral issues. Classrooms perform better as a whole when parents and teachers collaborate.
Teachers may persuade parents to participate in their child's education. Give parents your contact information so they can reach out for assistance early in the school year. Use emails, texts, or apps to keep parents informed about upcoming class events and to address common barriers to parent engagement. Volunteer shifts, class activities, and parent-teacher committees are all excellent ways to get involved. Share your classroom goals or expectations with parents in an open manner, and ask them to do the same.
Determining how to get involved can be difficult, especially for parents who work full-time. Participate in parent nights, conferences, and open houses; chaperone field trips; and volunteer in the classroom. Parents who genuinely care about their children's education are in a good position to help if they notice a child is struggling. Parents who maintain a positive attitude toward education are more likely to instill that attitude in their children. They also connect with their children by sharing their joy at their accomplishments and assisting them in working through disappointments. Reading together and displaying children's work at home are two ways for parents to demonstrate that they care about what their children are learning in school.
When parents are involved in their children's education, they are more likely to succeed. Parental involvement helps students stay on track, resulting in improved attendance, fewer missed assignments, higher test scores, and higher grade point averages. When parents discuss assignments and grades with their children, it becomes easier to start discussing progress and offer advice.
EXTRA EFFORT FOR EXTRA RESPONSIBILITIES

Working in a multifaceted profession is already tiring. What more if you play other roles such as mothers, daughters, son, or a business owner? Exhausting right? What understand a teacher, is also its co-educator. Hence, you might want to stop for a while, take your rest, while gaining tips as we give you advices in strategies of work-life time balancing. Happy Reading!
First thing first, remember that you are still human and not a robot. Prioritize your health before it’s too late. Giving your best shot in work does not require ignoring your overall health. You cannot do or achieve your goals if you are in poor health. To keep your mind and body healthy, get enough sleep, drink plenty of water, eat nutritious meals, and exercise. Stay away from unhealthy foods. Manage your time appropriately to have enough sleep. Sufficient sleep will give you a positive temper. Don't forget to take care of your mental health as well. Exercise assisted in dealing with the daily frustrations of being a teacher as well as dealing with issues beyond control.
I understand that teachers' responsibilities are nearly impossible to fulfill without putting in extra hours. Recognizing that you cannot plan countless field trips, attend every school event, and serve on every committee can assist you in focusing on what will have the greatest impact on your students' success. Remember that making time for yourself is not selfish. It is required.
To avoid last-minute cramming, complete your assignments and review your lessons as soon as possible. Plan ahead of time and set aside time for specific school tasks. Take study breaks to improve your concentration and reduce stress. Use the technique as a time management method. You will learn more effectively if you create a study schedule and practice effective time management.
As you go longer in service, you might not realize the impact you have on your students until many years later. You may not see the immediate results of your efforts, but teachers change students' lives every day simply by being themselves and making connections. You may not see the immediate results of your efforts, but teachers change students' lives every day simply by being themselves and making connections. Keeping that in mind can help when you're feeling overwhelmed by your teaching responsibilities.
Planning your days is a great way to stay organized and accountable. Make a conscious decision about how you want to spend your time. If you have a habit of procrastinating, write a ten-minute break on paper and mark it done when you finish. Negotiate household responsibilities based on your availability. Combining work and school may not be the wisest decision, as it can lead to mediocre results in both. The trick is to make the most of your time when you can do multiple tasks at once. This is not an easy task, but with hard work and self-discipline, you will be able to complete it.
STAKEHOLDERS: PEOPLE WHO HOLD THE SCHOOL’S FUTURE

School administrators will look into ways to build community collaborations in order to obtain a variety of resources for their schools. To energize community members, school leaders must learn how to deliver a well-balanced presentation of their schools' current needs.
Individuals or groups with an interest, engagement, or contribution in creating great learning environments are considered stakeholders in the educational system. Stakeholders have an impact on decisions all the way through the process, not just at the end.
Every adult, if seen, heard, and valued for their strengths and gifts, has much to offer children's growth and development, both directly and indirectly. Stakeholders are at the heart of education and must be meaningfully engaged. All parties feel seen, heard, and valued when they engage in open, transparent dialogue.
One of the stakeholders of the school is the school leaders. Principals are viewed as the key to creating a caring and trusting environment in schools. Principals play an important role in fostering a "professional community" of teachers who help one another improve instruction. Being a principal requires a unique set of skills and abilities. Principals are school administrators who oversee all aspects of the school's operations. A school leader's success is heavily influenced by his or her educational background, work experience, and personal qualities.
We also have teachers who communicate and socialize with the students and parents directly. A teacher's role is to provide meaningful and progressively challenging learning experiences to students in a variety of ways. These include, but are not limited to, self-exploration, questioning, decision-making, goal-setting, planning and organizing, implementing, self-evaluation, and demonstrating initiative in tasks and projects. The role also entails allowing students to access and use current technology, resources, and information to solve problems. These include the ability to prepare and maintain course files, record and report quizzes, assignments, mid-and final semester exams, and use data to guide changes in instruction and practice and improve student learning.
The students come in third. There will be no classes if there are no students. There will be no education. The student is responsible for submitting assignments on time, completing all tasks, and comprehending lessons. Furthermore, regardless of race, religion, color, sex, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or national origin, students must treat all other students equally. Respect professors' teaching styles as much as you respect your classmates.
Lastly, there are the parents, who are the strong foundation and the number one fan of their children. Their involvement and engagement will push their child to perform well in class.
School is indeed a place where different roles meet and work together to achieve continuous success.
PANDEMIC CONTEXT PUSHES FOR DIGITAL EDUCATION

The DepEd has chosen teachers who have been trained by the country's top journalists to be teacher-broadcasters to deliver lessons via DepEd TV, and the DepEd has also upgraded its DepEd Commons, an online learning platform for both public and private schools. In response to numerous reports of errors discovered in various learning materials, the department was able to more than double the number of learners who can access the platform at the same time.
87 percent of the world's student population was affected by lockdowns and quarantines, and 1.52 billion students were absent. Curriculum recalibration is concerned not only with content but also with how it is to be learned, taught, and assessed in the context of the pandemic's challenges. Authentic assessments must be strengthened to ensure that learners acquire competencies. A flexible curriculum design should be learner-centered and take into account learners' demographics and circumstances.
One disadvantage of distance learning in the Philippines is the lack of social interaction and support. If you are the type of person who requires extra motivation to work, you may struggle to complete your assessments and study materials. Because your learning environment is not as controlled as that of a classroom, it is also easy to become distracted.
On the brighter side, students can study at home, and teachers can teach from the comfort of their own homes as well. It is currently the safest way to study because students do not have to leave the house and risk becoming ill or catching a virus. Students can spend more time with their families and communicate with them more frequently.
Teachers or the school may conduct a survey at the start of the year to get a baseline understanding of your students' technology access. In order to understand how people use technology in their homes, ask them questions. Respondents to a tech equity vision should be documented and posted so that students feel and see accountability and ownership. Rethink your homework policies; be mindful of the constraints students face in accessing technology.
Students and teachers required more accessible, digital, and personalized learning and teaching during the pandemic. Governments have the opportunity and responsibility to create tools that support learning both inside and outside of the classroom. Texthelp CEO Martin McKay believes that we must challenge educational technology providers to create solutions that are accessible to all. Accessibility and personalization within these tools are becoming more accessible to students of varying abilities.

Reading Comprehension and Collaborative Learning
RAQUEL T. DAMASO, MAT
SST I - ALNNHS – Davao City Division
Nowadays, technology is considered not only a trend but also the need of everyone. Due to this reason, students have become more easily distracted from their studies. Focus is so tiny that their supposedly “study” ended up opening Facebook applications on their smartphones instead. At one moment, a learner reads; a second later, the learner ends up playing mobile phone games. Due to the gadgets which are accessible and affordable, students of the new generation now lack interest and motivation in reading. Aside from that problem is their inability to comprehend what they are supposed to read. They become easily discouraged when they find the texts they are reading challenging to understand. This is not a minor issue in terms of quality education because building comprehension is essential. Without it, reading can become really frustrating and seems to be a pointless exercise in word calling (Comprehension Instruction, 2002).
Thomas Gunning’s Proposition Theory stated that readers construct a central idea or macrostructure as they process the text. If a person cannot build the main idea, then it is tough to process what they are reading. How well students nowadays develop their capability to comprehend what they have read has a profound effect on their entire lives is not an exaggeration. One of the significant goals of reading comprehension instruction is to help students develop their knowledge, skills, and experiences. This is vital as it may affect a learner’s capability in the future since reading comprehension is one of the essential skills a person must possess.
Reading is essential because it is an opportunity to orchestrate the methods and skills that are vital to acquiring comprehension, which, in turn, results in gaining new knowledge. According to Juan Miguel Cruz (2007), many Filipinos can barely read and write despite our supposedly high literacy rate. Basically, many find this true, specifically for those who live in far-flung areas as well as the poorest parts of the nation. Someone even once commented that we are not a country of readers; instead, we are a country of storytellers. Our history and culture are passed on through word of mouth and not through the written word. For this reason, reading is considered a fundamental skill that should not be compromised in a humane society (Selangan, 2015).
We need reinforcement to boost the concentration and focus of the students today. Albert Bandura’s Social Learning Theory stated that Collaborative Learning appeared to enhance students’ self-esteem and focus. Easy collaborative teaching strategies, if readily applied even within the traditional lecture, can promote active learning (Lom 2012). Improving a learner’s reading comprehension skills through collaborative learning may promote positive results individually and also as a group. It can help them enhance their ability to understand the texts they are reading when having fun. There are tons of teaching strategies and approaches one may possibly apply inside the classroom. However, in the end, the instructor is the responsible one for choosing which variant of this technique is to be followed and applied in the class (“Basic Active Learning Strategies”, n.d.).

THE ROLE OF ECONOMIC IN EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION
JOYVI P. BAUTISTA
Administrative Assistant II
Sta. Rosa National High School
Concepcion, Tarlac
During the last few years, the country's educational system has made significant progress. Since the implementation of the K-12 Curriculum, school policies and procedures have been modified and revised. As part of the program, additional competent and qualified teachers are being hired. Furthermore, extra classrooms, school supplies, and equipment are being added. Of course, the Department of Education and the Commission on Higher Education develop and distribute teaching and learning materials that are widely available not only through printed textbooks but also through the official websites of DepEd and CHED.
Despite the positive alteration in our educational system, the challenges that education industry stakeholders face in the aftermath of implementation have become transparent. For the full integration of the newly implemented programs, the education sector in the Philippines still requires the dispersion of employees who lack the necessary skills and a shortage of qualified workers. To facilitate all Senior High School enrollees, public schools still lacked classroom and school equipment. Amidst years of struggle, educational institutions continue to survive. There are sponsors who have donated aid to fund the schools with their expenses. To meet all of these demands, DepEd was able to expand and improve its budgeting technique.
Not a decade has passed, and the educational field faces another challenge imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The mode of learning has shifted to distance or blended learning, in which instruction vary based on the learner's accessibility to technology. Since most Filipino families are impoverished, not all students in face-to-face classes can afford online classes or even modular learning. As a result, many Filipino students are forced to drop out of school for a period of time.
Similarly, DepEd must devise a new strategy to manage the revisions and limit the problems caused by the pandemic. The seminars and training have been meticulously planned and executed in order for teachers to be equipped with the new mode of instruction and to guide their students in the new method of learning. It has never been easy for all schools to stay afloat in a pandemic. That is why, despite the fact that COVID cases have subsided, the Philippines is one of only two countries in the world that has not reopened schools or held in-person classes.
Opening a face-to-face class in the phase of a health crisis is a heavy commitment. To ensure the safety of both students and teachers, DepEd must plan every decision. School facilities and equipment remain a top priority. Regular school rules and regulations must also include health guidelines. Furthermore, all of these plans necessitate adequate support, such as everyone's cooperation and financial assistance.
Fortunately, DepEd issued its recommendation and guidelines for the pilot implementation of face-to-face classes in December of last year. Participating schools must be in areas classified as "low risk" or under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
With the scenarios described above, the budgeting process in the educational sector is the cornerstone to an unstoppable breakthrough. The proper and careful allocation and development of funds and facilities for the realization of school objectives is referred to as budgeting. It converts the school's needs, programs, and projects into monetary value. A school budget is intended to last for a long time. As a result, budgetary requirements for the future are projected. Budgeting governs a school system's financial behavior and is an important factor in adjusting easily for instructional planning. The budgeting process necessitates that educational administrators and planners use a structural model for efficient planning and control.
The Principles of School Administration
HANNAH JHANE CAINGLET- ALMADIN
Moncada, Tarlac
School administration is handled by an administrator together with his/her governing body. It is both a theory and an action that aims to fulfill the expectations and demands of students, teachers, parents, and other school staff.
An article written by Diksha Kashyap highlights the 6 essential pillars of school administration. Its pillars are enumerated as (1) Structural Democracy, (2) Operational Democracy, (3) Justice, (4) Equality of Opportunity, (5) Prudence, and (6) Adaptability, Flexibility, and Stability.
Structural Democracy is the first principle of school administration. It pertains to incorporating democracy into a structural organization. It implies a sense of freedom and control. To explain it better, an educational administration must balance freedom with limitations. The section of control in educational management must be on the track of provoking students to freely and accountably address demands and express perceptions for their self-realization, self-fulfillment, and self-actualization. The core goal of school administration is to focus on its people. People included in the school must be treated similarly to living, growing, and flowering organisms. As a result, the school administration wishes to imply that everyone has their own time to grow and different ways to learn. In light of this, a capable, highly qualified administrator is suitable to handle a huge job such as this. Administrators are expected to control, influence, and empower the behavior of their stakeholders.
The second administrative principle is operational democracy. This principle emphasizes the application of democracy as a culture of living and legislative body. An educational institution is thought of as a replica of a narrow society. With that, a school's a reflection of the entire view of society, Generally speaking, this type of democracy stresses the viability and implications of democratic occurrences in association with educational outlooks in terms of its administrative facet.
Furthermore, educational administration presupposes justice. Instead of equality, justice is defined as equity. In both contexts and discipline, justice is democratic. To apply justice in school leadership, offering rewards is essential to each school entity as recognition and appreciation for their hard work and achievements. However, in practice, this does not occur because educational administrators frequently exert discretionary authority unreasonably and implement standard guidelines too tightly in one area.
Among the most important social objectives of education is providing fair opportunities for impoverished schools and individuals to access education as a way of enhancing their situation. School culture is critical in maintaining fairness and equality in the field of education. Inequalities in education encompass maldistribution of educational institutions; deprivation of a large portion of the population and relative privilege of a small minority; disparities in education based on gender; and imbalances in academic reform between the innovative and retrograde classes.
In terms of actual practice, educational administration must invoke prudence and a sense of direction. The verification and balance system is a prudential framework that safeguards an educational enterprise and mitigates misbehavior and misapplication by an executive. In the absence of the requisite expenses for education, there will be guarantees of quality control.
To deal with changing circumstances, an institution must be versatile. This is accomplished by provoking goals of improvement and daily interactions with individuals or organizations. This is referred to as an institution's adaptability. To achieve its educational goals, it must deal with various human beings, such as teachers, parents, and the general public, who are all affected in some way by the procedure or its outcomes. The educational institution must obtain adaptability without disrupting its processes or achievements. Consistency is the name given to this property.
The pillars of educational administration guide the highest governing body in a school to effectively manage every internal and external activity of the institution.

WHY DO WE NEED MORE OF SCIENCE EDUCATION?
GRIZZEL C. TIAMZON
Mayang Elementary School
La Paz North District
DepEd-Tarlac Province
For billions of years, the Earth has been alive. Have you ever wondered how many more years it will last? The world's attention was drawn to an alarming act of civil disobedience made by scientists. The scientist rebellion was headed by Dr. Peter Kalmus who was in the teary eye when warning everyone that the Earth only has less than 5 years to live. Fear and apprehension gripped people all over the world. The scientists emphasize that everyone must act to protect future generations. The question is, will less than 5 years suffice to restore Earth's stunning enchantress? Will we be able to save ourselves and our loved ones? or Will it is the end of our journey?
More pertinent than those questions are the concern about where this tragic prediction began. What have we forgotten to make things worse than they are now? Will you agree with me that the answer to this question is "ignorance" and "irrationality"? The combination of these factors made us believe that everything is going well. While we are reaping the full benefits of dangerous inventions, we are oblivious to the fact that we are already destroying something. Until we are shocked by the news that we are on the verge of losing everything. We lack the responsibility to be aware and to take an action.
As a result, strengthening science education is pivotal. At an early age of children, they must recognize the importance of every natural resource they have. In this way, they will have the heart to use these resources carefully and efficiently. They will not take advantage of it. The key to environmental issues is balancing technological advancement with the preservation of natural resources. Education will make this possible.
Science teachers must not only spoon-feed their students' minds. Most importantly, they will be able to pique their students' interest in the environment and green technology. Teachers can influence their students' actions in this way. Lack of knowledge leads to a lack of responsibility, which leads to failure.
An interactive science class is highly suggested to further foster student engagement and involvement in class. The modern approach to science education is a student initiation to learn in the presence of an educator. Inquiry-Based Science Education (IBSE) was implemented as a research-based approach to education. In this approach, learners are offered the chance to scrutinize an issue, decide on the best remedies, make inferences, pose questions, evaluate our theories, and use their intellect.
The Roles of Secondary School Administrators in the Context of Effective School
Marie Joyce L. Tañedo
Block 4 San Vicente, Tarlac City
Will you agree with me if I'll say that the efficiency of school is subjective? Surely, I will get different answers.
The fact that several famous and victorious educational institution has distinct features from one another, made me think that is there a standard basis or measurement in determining the efficiency of a school? Or is it based on the eye of the holder?
The efficiency of school can be both measured on a standard basis and on a subjective basis. For instance, no one will disagree that a school with an air-conditioned classroom, more facilities, more security, healthier foods, more programs, more equipment, more competitive faculties, and more achievements is an effective school. We can conclude standards set by the accumulated expectations of society and the standards set by the highest educational institution. That is referred to as the objective measurement of efficiency. On the other hand, if we will rely solely on the objective basis stated above, there will be no efficient public schools because they are facing scarcity in supplies, facilities, and equipment. On that grounds, it will be unjust and discriminating to easily conclude. That is why the subjective point of view is also valid. As an illustration, a student from a public school, that is studying in a classroom without air con, with only manila paper on the board instead of a large monitor, and limited textbooks can still feel satisfied and empowered.
More than the tangible aspects, intangible dominants must also be considered. A school that faced vulnerabilities in tangible resources may still be efficient in its intangible components such as the administration and management. With a limited school budget in the broader demands of different stakeholders, a competent and passionate school head is required.
School administrators are the control system of a particular educational institution. To be constantly advancing, a school administrator must be innovative and exceptional to formulate and implement educational programs that will minimize problems and maxims success.
Implementing an accurate and beneficial school project undergoes a series of procedures. The common mistake committed by most school heads is integrating an educational scheme without assessing the school's current state. With that, an administrator must have the heart to serve, the eyes that see things in a holistic view, and the ears to listen to the concerns of its people. The administrator must accumulate sufficient information on the status quo of the school. It will lead him in determining the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that facilitate the school to be efficient for its stakeholders.
After the administrator analyzed the existing school setting, he must set goals then followed by objectives. From those visions, a project will be designed. After all that process, the execution of plans will be followed. An evaluation form must be distributed to the school stakeholders to express their insights. The outcomes of the evaluation will best determine the efficiency of the school.
Overall, a diverse educational scheme approach is suggested in the modern phase of education. An administrator with extraordinary plans will make it happen.
THE VALUE OF SBM
JEM NOOL DELOS REYES
Nilasin 2, Pura, Tarlac
Control is the procedure of preparing, collaborating, and guiding school events while employing individuals and physical assets efficiently to ensure the institution's aspirations. This is not just for school administrators; everyone responsible for training should learn about school leadership. The primary aim of the organization is arranging, which is the way of constructing objectives and identifying actions to achieve those specific goals. Institutional employees will supervise, organize, and collaborate with a team of subordinates who provide administrative services. In educational environments, proper management of human and non-human resources is essential. Even though school resources are finite, the people involved must be handled and properly implemented. To do so, administrative officials must first comprehend asset categorization and features.
School-based management is an educational goal and initiative that transfers substantial choice jurisdiction from local and federal headquarters to school systems. School heads, teaching staff, students, and guardians have more direct authority over the education system with SBM. SBM can develop effective educational experiences by involving educators, parents, and other concerned citizens.
The education department and superintendent must be cooperative with school-based management from the onset. They must have faith in the school heads and councils to ascertain how to achieve the district's objectives. Only those eligible to participate in staff must receive courses in areas such as judgment, conflict resolution, and group cohesiveness. SBM implementation could take 5 years or more.
SBM facilitates and strengthens school-relevant parties to supervise their own transactions. SBM has been used in hundreds of educational districts in the state. SBM has centered on two entitlements which are greater involvement in strategic planning and making "improved" moral choices. The regulation of specialist support and guidance by the region to the divisions, and by the segments of the schools, will be systematized through technical cooperation. The Quality Control and Accountability System offers a system for improving compliance in DepED's vital infrastructure, practices, outcomes, and effects at different levels of the organization.
It is bolstered by intersecting evaluation and monitoring procedures that provide instructors with relevant information for decision‐making. Build and evaluate regional assistance mechanisms to accommodate compliance with policies, systematic approach delivery, and quality control and accountability.
The Covid pandemic recession outlined the value of decentralization in the field of education. It was coincidental that the DepEd had executed its school-based management (SBM) program years before the global epidemic. Power decentralization benefits both locally and nationally academic officials. It relieves the head offices of the time-consuming activity of validating and defining local context while also empowering local officials.
