Beyond Pedagogy: Instructional Leadership and Why it Matters

FRANCISCO TRANCE JR., LPT, MAEd

The four corners of the school are each student's home for consuming knowledge and wisdom. Over time, development becomes a part of every school, providing every student with the opportunity to gain experience for the future. Hence, the only way to develop the students’ reasoning skills and abilities is through effective instruction and the enhancement of their knowledge through the school-based management processes, and the education system, which was the heart of every nation, must be re-organized for this reason.

It has become clear that educators play a vital role in the daily lives of their students. They create a secure learning environment for the students. In addition, they can identify the students' strengths and weaknesses. Most significantly, educators can foster a progressive educational perspective.

Instructional or school leadership, which exists in every school leader, is one of the approaches being examined and conducted for years already. A leadership mindset is characterized as an intense moral purpose centered on fostering profound student learning, professional inquiry, trustworthy relationships, and the pursuit of evidence of action. As an affirmation of the quality of education, this is the philosophy adhered to ensure the full development of learning and management in students and various locations. During the colonization by Spaniards and Americans, they introduced how school administrators should conduct themselves and manage the education system. But, as time passed, teaching standards and strategies gradually evolved.

Leaders must be visionary, teachable, and transparent, able to offer technical assistance and empower others. Initially, only school principals and superintendents were included in this perspective. However, it has also been discovered that other educators with sufficient competence and growth in teaching can fulfill this function. Therefore, school leaders include senior teachers and other school instructors to lead the development of each school's educational system. Recent research has broadened the scope of this concept to include not only principals but also other school personnel and administrators.

Teachers and principals agreed that the most instructional beneficial leadership practices were focusing the school on achievement goals and expectations, keeping track of teachers' professional development needs, and generating structures and opportunities for teachers to collaborate. Principals play a key role in supporting and encouraging the professional development needs of teachers. Leaders are responsible for keeping track of these needs and providing teachers with resources and materials to expand their plethora of instructional practices. Furthermore, the former Secretary of Education Leonor Briones stated in 2018 that leaders must be able to effectively communicate the change that they want to have to their peers and subordinates. In this view, we can say that the leaders need to be the change that they want to see.

The significance of leadership cannot be determined by a leader's position or function. It manifests itself in one’s actions, integrity, and fidelity to the sworn duty to never steal from anyone.

PRACTICES OF NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS  IN CENTRAL LUZON TOWARD ASEAN INTEGRATION

Christian Paul S. Sunga

ELA Teacher, Tampa Florida USA

ABSTRACT

This study determined the profile of the secondary school principals, teachers and learners of selected national high schools in region 3 in terms of their SBM level, educational attainment, and ASEAN-related experiences. The study also looked into the efforts and undertakings of the selected national high schools towards ASEAN Integration in terms of instruction, programs and activities; and co-curricular activities. Hence, the challenges of the schools toward ASEAN integration were also sought and an improvement plan was proposed thereafter.

This study employed a mixed-method approach. It used Descriptive Research Design and Phenomenological Research Design to analyse the profiles of the respondents, their efforts and undertakings and challenges encountered toward ASEAN integration.

The respondents of the study were from (7) National High Schools of Region 3 which composes (7) School Principals, (35 Teachers), and (175) High School Students who were preferably student leaders each school. A Survey Interview Guide Questionnaire composed of (3) parts and was created using Google Form, and distributed to the respondents via DepEd email was used as instrument in this research.

The following were the findings of the study: the schools already achieved SBM level 3, and all principals and teachers have credentials qualified for ASEAN Integration. All the principals and majority of the teachers have relevant seminars and training toward ASEAN Integration. However, only a few learners get to attend such events. All the principals and majority of the teachers entered ASEAN relevant contests while only some learners are given the opportunity to compete. All the principals have ASEAN membership, yet most of the teachers and learners are not affiliated with ASEAN. The schools practice ASEAN Integration in terms of instruction, programs and activities, and co-curricular activities. Moreover, even though there are efforts and undertakings toward ASEAN Integration, the schools face a myriad of challenges in ASEAN implementation.

Based on the result of this study, it has been possible for educational management to understand the underlying factors that enabled the respondents to experience challenges toward the implementation of ASEAN integration. Further, the results suggest that the Department of Education and ASEAN-relevant organizations should create a clear guideline on ASEAN since the lack of schools’ engagement came from the lack of organization and priority from the authorities.

Sci-Booklet: Its Effect to the Academic Performance of Grade IV Pupils in Science

JOHN PATRICK A. VILLONES

Teacher III

San Juan Elementary School,

DepEd Rizal, Region IV-A CALABARZON

Research Abstract

The study was conducted to increase the level of Academic performance of Grade IV pupils in Science in San Juan Elementary School through the use of a Researcher-made Science Booklet. Through this research, the researcher has proven that this innovative material has a positive effect in the performance of the target pupils-respondents.

The three consecutive School Years (SY 2018 to SY 2021) have revealed a low Mean Percentage Scores (MPS) in the consolidated test results in Science that affect the overall school’s performance. Through this instance, the researcher has initiated intervention to address the identified problem.  It was found out that the following were the reasons of this problem as a result of the root-cause analysis: (1) available textbooks have limited graphics and images; (2) readily available materials are difficult to understand; (3) textbooks have plenty of readings but lack of things or tasks to do; and (4) most of the learners are non-readers or have difficulty in reading.

Based on the above mentioned root-causes, the researcher has made a Science booklet in which topics and lessons were aligned to the curriculum guide. This booklet has full of colored images that the learners can look into and somehow increased learning acquisition and association. Moreover, the very purpose of it was to give Science teachers other reference materials in teaching the topics in Science and at the same way gave the pupils another learning material that they can bring at home to review and study in advance.

This study has used the experimental design with control and experimental group that has been divided into two equal numbers of respondents. These respondents were chosen based on their average grading performance or final rating in Science subject from their previous grade level. The pretest has been conducted to find out the level of performance of both the control and experimental group beforehand. Meanwhile, posttest has been administered afterwards. With that, in order to statistically measure the result of their performance, Mean was used. Moreover, independent t-test was used to determine the significant difference on the level of their performance.

In the conduct of the study, it was found out that the experimental group had an increased result in mean percentage scores as compare to the control group. This implied that the respondents gained more knowledge and skills in learning the topics and lessons in Science through the use of a Researcher-made Science Booklet. Moreover, the exposure of the respondents in this material has enabled them to assess their own learning by writing reflections after every completed task or lesson.

Hence, the null hypothesis was rejected. This could mean that the respondents who used the Sci-Booklet as another learning material has learned better from the pupils in the control group who did not use it. This proved that the said innovative material is more effective to use among the grade IV learners because of its uniqueness on contents that makes it to be holistic and heuristic in nature at the same time.

Improve Learners' Reading Skills Through Reading Remediation  Programs

JACQUELINE A. IBUS

Master Teacher I, Ilocos Sur

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a disturbing impact on students' reading skills. However, the Department of Education (DepEd) is standing firm and pursuing the goal of continuing to train learners through the establishment of a limited form of face-to-face learning. DepEd ensures that the most basic study skills are at the heart of the learning process.

Reading is the key to lifelong learning. This is one of the most important skills that learners must master.

Reading plays a very important role in the development of nations, and we cannot ignore the fact that it also has an impact on people. A literate person can educate himself in any area of life that interests him. Reading is to cultivate imagination. Through reading, one can go anywhere in the world, or even leave it, and non-readers can experience these pleasures to the same extent.  Reading is necessary because words, spoken and written, are the foundation of life. It is true that schools, especially in our country, are focusing on improving learners' reading skills and we see programs and interventions being implemented to help and guide learners.

To strengthen the reading skills of all learners and help foster a reading culture that is seen as a required skill in all content areas, DepEd has announced the initiative "Hamon: Bawa't Bata" Bumasa" (3Bs). To make all learners fluent readers, all schools across the country have a responsibility to help learners develop their reading skills.  To capture learners' reading performance, all public elementary schools conduct pre-reading assessments. It has been revealed that many learners are non-readers and slow to read due to distance learning for almost two years. To fill this gap, teachers prepare all the reading materials needed to develop students’ reading skills. In addition, they also have clear instructions in print format and also in video format. As a result, some learners increasingly acquire basic reading skills. In addition, some teachers have their weekly reading assessment to check a student's reading progress. The results are recorded and are the basis for the teacher to give learners the next stage of the reading activity.

Teachers and parents are also worried about implementing a" No Read, No Pass Policy". With this problem in mind, the Division of Ilocos Sur implemented a reading program to solve this dilemma to enhance learners’ reading results. One of these programs is Adopt – A – Struggling Reader which emphasizes that all teachers regardless of the subject areas they are teaching shall adapt at least 2 struggling readers each. All struggling readers in all grade levels must be adopted. All Schools in Ilocos Sur Division implemented this program and as part of the implementation, all schools prepared reading programs, school action plans, and reading remedial plans. This program was religiously monitored by the Education Program Supervisors from the Curriculum Implementation Division. The Program was successful because it enhances the learners reading skills based on the validation of reading assessment results.

CAREER HACKS: What to know in K-12 Program?

ANGELINE FAYE A. LAPITAN

Anacalan Integrated School Amacalan ,Gerona, Tarlac

In a third-world country such as the Philippines with a poverty incidence rate of 46% in 2022, education is placed in the least priority zone. The opportunity to gain a college diploma, a wide range of stable careers and a steady future is usually unattained to most Filipinos as they neglected the benefits that education is offering for over decades.

The everyday scenario of “isang kahig, isang tuka” experienced by most families in the Philippines, is the main reason for the increased percentage of out-of-school children and youth. This undesirable setting requires motivation not just from the students but from the families, especially parents and guardians. Although the student's desire to learn is present they lack a support system, both inspirational and financial, the result is a missed chance of attending school.

With that, the Department of Education (DepEd) with national and local government, constantly exploring, creating, and integrating educational schemes that will cater to all Filipino aspirants from privileged to underprivileged groups. The educational program to be formulated and implemented must meet the equality and accessibility demands while ensuring global standards of competencies.

In 2012, the K to 12 was executed in the Philippine institution. It includes 13 years of education plus a college degree. In this plan, the Kindergarten program is mandatory for all students. It will also serve as a gate pass for the students to enter an elementary level.  Afterward, learners may now enroll in any school offering junior high school and senior high school. The core concept of K to 12 is to provide two options for students who have a hard time financing their studies.

Senior High School is a two-year additional year of studying. It enables K-12 graduates to decide whether to continue attending higher education or grab a career opportunity related to their chosen senior high school strand. K-12 graduates have the opportunity to apply in a global corporate realm through certificates from TESDA. A secure job is possible even without pursuing a college diploma. Working instead of going to university enables students to generate finances while also gaining real-world experience.  Individuals will boost more practical skills while working. Several occupations value practical experience over a diploma. Students who work will have extra income than students in higher education. Students who choose to work after senior high school may improve their organizational skills.

However, the privileged and rewards from college completion are multiplied. A professional job position and promotion are the common edge of college graduates. In 2020, higher education will be required for two-thirds of all professions. A college education unlocks significant additional compensation. Generating a bachelor's degree can put you in touch with people willing to contribute to reshaping the future. University graduates can foresee an amount of support from their seniors that they will not find elsewhere.

Either of these two options will lessen the rate of illiterate and underprivileged Filipinos. The bottom line of implementing K to 12 is extending its scope while building its solid mantra.

BEAUTY IN THE BEAST

It has been two years since Covid-19 was pronounced as a pandemic. Looking back, the novel human coronavirus disease 2019 (2019-nCoV, presently COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus which was first identified in China in 2019 and subsequently spread globally. As the World Health Organization declared the outbreak  as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern in January 2020 and a pandemic  on March 2020, the Philippine government likewise declared health emergency on March 2020, following increment of confirmed cases and local transmissions.

The beast-like COVID-19 hazardously overturned our lives and inevitably stole the sense of our ordinary living as restrictive measures were implemented to control its spread including school closures, community lockdowns, home quarantines unless for emergencies, and even prohibitions from work, business, and travel. As we steered with the uncertainty of the unknown virus, we were enormously in despair and drawn into the depths of anguished torments. We agitated a lot of hostility and frustration since we were unable to leave our home and socialize, unable to attend school and learn, unable to go to work and worst, some became jobless.

Despite the painful experiences thrown by the pandemic, here are a some of its beauties that somehow diverged us towards positivity as we contemplate from the valuable and deeper lessons it gives:

HEALTH WAS WEALTH. Since our lives amid the pandemic could alter in an instant, we became health conscious as we shielded ourselves to reduce the risks of developing severe COVID through proper nutrition, regular exercise, and enough sleep. We embraced the everyday habit of wearing masks, proper handwashing, and social distancing.

WE WERE ALL VITAL. Because the virus can affect everybody, it taught us to appreciate the importance of everyone most especially those who tend to be belittled and ignored as they stood up to help and give their fullest strengths and resources to the community. Further, isolations made us realized on the significance of relationships and interactions which we sometimes took for granted.

LOVED OURSELVES EVEN MORE. Taking care of ourselves was sometimes being undervalued, but as we compelled into a work from home set-up, cut back socializations, and discovered innovative ways to combat stress, we got the chance to practice self-care in a multitude of ways like restructuring daily routine and moments of physical and mental rest.

DISCOVERED AND HONED SKILLS. Rather than focusing on various restrictions, the pandemic gave us the chance to sharpen our skills and focus on the stuffs that required our consideration including spending quality time with our family while discovering new-time filling crafts in arts and music. Some enjoyed on becoming a “plantita” while others tried online selling to sustain their living in some sort.

COVID-19 pandemic taught us to rebuild resiliency as we became stronger and safer while ceaselessly being united and adaptable in the needs of circumstances.  In fact, the overall survival of our country amid challenges depends on how we wisely turned the “beast into its beauty”.

TYPES OF EDUCATIONAL LEADERS: Are you the right one?

HEIZER MARBIE M. BULANADI

Brgy. Balanti, Tarlac City

The practice of educational leaders entails making plans, evaluation, coordinating, as well as improving teaching and learning. Educational leaders evaluate instructor performance and assist teachers to advance their skills by mentoring and coaching them.

To develop into an instructional leader, you must devote some time to solving didactical problems, taking steps to enhance teachers' instruction, and carrying out improvement of instruction for enhancing their classroom instruction.

Transformational leaders can affect student achievement by defining great standards, providing support to individuals, and cultivating productive relationships. Innovative leaders' influence has indeed been characterized as "the generating of emotions" through personality, compassion, and emotional intelligence (EI). This enables them to reinvigorate their team members and drive success. Transformational leaders boost teacher motivation, morale, and achievement by instilling confidence, admiration, loyalty, as well as respect.

Constructivist school leaders anticipate teachers to participate in reflective practices and processes with their students and peer group. It is not about telling educators how to deliver instructions; rather, it is about instructional teachers that we are all students.

Servant rulers in schools assist students and educators in developing the skills to improve their performance. Instead of focusing on self-interest, this participatory leadership style considers the needs of others. Servant leaders can cultivate high-performing teachers by breaking down barriers and opening lines of communication with the whole school community.

Leaders look ahead and plan for just an uncertain future. People use collective thinking to create a values-based school. Their leadership is based on transparency, ethics, and responsibility. A strategic president's mission includes looking for ways to enhance the school climate through innovation. Teachers who continue pursuing postgraduate impact on organization will be able to support efficient learning and teaching Instruction Partners established the Intermixed Virtual Learning Toolkit for principals, teachers, and schoolchildren.

Using toolkit to gain clarity and concentrate on how to maximize folks and engage kids in a virtual environment. strategies, keep up with educational industry transformation and introduce fresh concepts into schools.

Great school governance is the foundation of good universities, and every student must have access to an excellent education. Teachers in secondary schools report a greater decrease in their sense of success as a result of challenging working conditions. Is one teacher said the COVID-19 pandemic has increased their possibility of retiring early or leaving the profession? Increased demands and new medical issues are hastening early retirement and reducing entry into the education sector.

THE HEART OF AN EDUCATIONAL LEADER

JAN JOSEF L. DELA CRUZ

Aguso, Tarlac City

“Leaders touch a heart before they ask for a hand.”

Everyone is aware of how difficult it was for the leaders to hear the voices of the lower classes. Their mission required them to create and nurture a selfless desire on a daily basis. Feelings and emotions are their greatest constitutions.

An educational leader has a servant's heart. Aiming for a high quality of students in a school is easy if the education is well prioritized. An effective leader must step back, look at the big picture, and make sure the important things are not being pushed out of the way by the seemingly urgent needs of the moment.

An educational leader who will say, "My command is not just for myself but for all of you!". The heart of a leader is incredible and the most important aspect of his personality. Through his unmatched effort and dedication, everything was in the process of improvement.

Educational leaders consider all the people who are part of the home of knowledge and learning. The principal position entails administrative tasks just like a leader, who provoked his teaching staff to continuously uplift and empower the students for the betterment of the school.

A good example of a school leader is a person that has a creative mind and critical thinking. Always choose a leader that accompanies you through your dreams. Leadership is meaningless if your heart is as hard that only seeing your personal insights while letting the students, teachers, and parents' concerns became worst. A leader’s heart is like a shining star that symbolizes hope to everyone.

A genuine heart results in a pure intention that is most often the greatest weapon of a true leader.  Connecting and interacting with a leader who has a humble heart is better than communicating with a school leader who will never see and recognize your voice.

On the other hand, with all of the challenges that schools are facing, there is always a leader that strives and delivers excellence and proficiency. Remember, the best leaders are those who understand that their power is for the majority, not for self-interest. A positive mind and a humble heart are great qualities of a school head. An administrative function is a privilege that entails duties in order to serve everyone.

Educational leadership is not always the excellent product of minds. Sometimes, a soft heart is what your constituents need in order to achieve a good relationship.

1 IS TO 1: COMPUTER-TO-STUDENT RATIO PROGRAM

MICHAEL ANGELO B. FAUSTO

Matatalaib, Tarlac City

Inequalities are still prevalent in many aspects of certain states. You will always notice the two distinct situations that a person can have. More privileged people can enjoy their wealth and privilege even more. On the other hand, those underprivileged are constantly deprived because of their inability to access sufficient resources.

For instance, educational institutions in the Philippines have two major categories: private schools and public schools. Unreasonably, when we talk about private schools, we automatically associate them with better quality, better security, better facilities, and a better experience. Contradictory, public schools are often linked with shortages in teaching staff, advanced supplies and equipment, and even budgets to improve the free educational services in the country. Almost half of the population in the Philippines belongs to underprivileged communities.

As a result, the Department of Education planned and implemented its Computerization Program (DCP) which strives to proffer advanced technologies and information systems to government universities and schools in order to improve the educational workflow and satisfy the requirements of the twenty-first millennium. This curriculum will address the computer skills shortage in public education by supplying hardware, software, and tutoring in basic troubleshooting. Philippine public policies, including the Medium-Term Development Plan of the Filipinos and Education for All, urge the implementation of this program to better serve every member of the community and emphasize equality.

The Computerization Initiative helps provide state schools with information technology resources and supplies that are tailored to the requirements of the Curriculum guide. Furthermore, it incorporates ICT into the process of education to improve the digital proficiency of learners, teaching staff, and school administrators. Its primary objective is to ensure that all students will have access to computers for academic purposes and a better educational experience.

The Regional Information System's Executive of the Department of Education Main Office is accountable for creating a project plan for an organized, safe, and complete shipment of resources towards the end of the beneficiary schools. The Distributor's Customer Assistance Companion contacts the beneficiary education system to organize unboxing, installation, and instructional time frames. Protocols are integrated and strictly followed in order to ease the delivery and supplementation of needed resources in beneficiary schools. When the courier service arrives at the institution, the service staff looks for school delegates to accept the products. Staff who will accept must present an authorization letter. Moreover, they examine for possible damage to provide an instant solution.

Upon delivery, installation, configuration, and even inspection will be conducted before finally handing over the equipment to the recipient. The ASP inspects the devices to guarantee that they are functional and meet the design specs. Before performing the analysis, assessors should be aware of the technical standards and volume of the devices. A duplicate of the Inspection and Acceptance Report (IAR) and the Serial Number Checklist must be provided to the Assessment Council. Lastly, they check the transactions and compare them to the right quantities to ensure that all the items stipulated in a contract were delivered.

THE ISSUES MOST SCHOOLS DEALS IN A REGULAR BASIS

Transitioning the educational system by implementing advanced toolkits will make it easier to accomplish their goals. There is a huge market to revitalize public education systems with virtualization, portable, and modern devices to increase command and control products and efficiently organize the establishment. Below are a few prevalent education management concerns and also how advanced methods can be applied to solve them.

Computerize educational procedures with a School Management System to save time and decrease employees' volume of work. With the capability to send instant notifications, advisories, and remembrances via email, SMS alerts, and text messages from portable devices, registration sites can simplify enrollment and fee collection. Using a virtualized schooling remedy to correspond to individuals, procedures, and future technologies will assist organizations in handling data from interrogation and implementation to acceptance and enrollment.

Schools are struggling to deal with student misbehavior and irresponsibility and behavior patterns troubles. A growing amount of student discipline occurrences occur as a consequence of an essential communication gap among students and teachers. Through immediate updates and notifications via electronic mail, Text messaging, and push messages, the internet and mobile-based schooling management solution creates transparency.

Institutions are incapable of gathering data, and decision-making based on comprehensive evaluation is subject to interminable disruptions. Using predictive analytics will assist institutions in identifying at-risk students and deploying funds to boost their performance and success. Communicate and interact with students, parents, and former students to build relationships and continue driving higher success rates.

Web and mobile can assist in two different ways which are private and school environment discussion. There is also a Bulletin Board where educators can post notices about their classrooms. This option is only available to students who have been requested into the schoolroom by the instructor, so it is primarily tailored to that specific classroom.

Fee management inside an academic institution is challenging for a wide range of reasons. The providing services alternative addresses all of these problems at once, on the magnitude of a reputable and well-run research center. To start everything off, the whole fee performance management is done by machines, making the organizational staff's job much simpler. Admittance administration is an essential part of a school's management platform. This ensures that the administration is cognizant of their top students departing the school, even while providing them with the chance to assist students who require assistance or weed out unruly kids if required.

 IT TAKES COURAGE TO THRIVE

BENIGNO G. MANALESE JR.

 Administrative Assistant III DepEd,

 Tarlac Province San Roque, Tarlac

Most of the time, school heads are invited to deliver an inspirational speech at all of the events and activities of a particular school. Sitting in your seat while listening to their speeches, you might conclude how well-inspired and happy they are. Little did we know, there are nights when school heads are sleepless, stressed, exhausted, and demotivated. It might be because of the draining impact of too many workloads. Just imagine that after accomplishing many projects, you still cannot relax because there will be another batch of incoming activities that await you. There will always be a time when resignation will pop up in the minds of school leaders.

Despite all these draining factors on their minds, they still manage to thrive and persistently serve everyone. Not always highlighted and appreciated are the sacrifices of school leaders, who set aside their welfare first to prioritize the majority.

Even smiling on the outside, we sometimes don't notice the inner thoughts of our school heads asking for a rest, even for a short period. It takes bravery for school leaders to wake up in the morning and be accountable for their duties despite having a nearly depleted body battery. Courageous leaders have endless grit to fulfill their duty. Even facing the most exhausting days, their passion will be their fuel and blood to keep them alive and kicking.

It is their resiliency that drives them to continue planning and integrating new things to bring prosperity and advancement to everyone, especially the students. A school leader who has courage is not afraid to fail because he makes himself ready before going to the battlefield. They make sure that everything is well coordinated and in good condition prior to the event. If things turn out to be unfavorable, they will never quit. Instead, they will smartly and wisely assess the situation and trace what went wrong. From there, they will silently and carefully try to fix things until they become appropriate. It is commitment and passion that supports their courage to accept and finish what they have started. A great educational leader is not a quitter. They are warriors that never stop striving until they reach the optimum level of success.

Lastly, they have the courage to admit an honest mistake and take full responsibility for fixing it. There are lots of high-potential leaders who lack enough strength to admit their miscalculations. Hence, you will easily identify a great leader who maintains his integrity and responsibility if a negative outcome is made.

THE FUNCTION OF ELECTRONIC TOOLS IN MODERN EDUCATION

NIKOBER V. OÑATE

Administrative Aide VI

DepEd Tarlac Province

The role of the teacher has become advanced in a way where a teacher is in front of the class and technology has played an important role in its evolution. Its simplicity and availability have repercussions and provide support to both the student and the educator. Educators can ask learners to complete an electronic questionnaire that provides immediate information, saving the instructional time that would normally be spent grading and reviewing each assigned task.

School administrators should support educators in developing the skills required to improve studying thru all the advanced technologies. Students benefit from technology by having straightforward access to data and acquiring knowledge at a faster pace. It allows students to learn about new topics and expand their knowledge of complex concepts. Students can develop 21-century technological expertise by implementing new technologies both within and outside of the school environment.

School administrators should assess where their teaching staff stands regarding their knowledge of virtual interactions. They can now incorporate strategies for the future based on the information learned during this interruptive period. School officials could give employees ample time to contemplate how to instruct previously impossible online courses.

Teachers can use electronic devices to boost educational materials and involvement while also expanding educational experiences. Academic institutions can advantage of advanced technologies by lowering the cost of tangible teaching materials and maximizing the effectiveness of educational materials.

Educators encourage children's intellectual curiosity and interest, which has been linked to educational excellence in studies. Inquisitiveness aids students in acknowledging both reading and math principles.

Today's wide range of digital learning helps children with a plethora of choices from which to choose the most suitable ones for their learning requirements. Instructional technology allows students to have a blast while studying, which aids them in remaining engaged and enthusiastic concerning their analyses. Students who can share information more effectively through electronic methods will achieve better academic results in the workplace.

The internet has evolved into such an indispensable component of our lives that it is difficult to locate anyone who does not utilize it regularly. In a modern environment, students must be capable of using the internet from any location at any moment to complete their coursework and study. Students can learn new competencies and broaden their understanding by utilizing ICT in education.

The advantages of using ICT in education entail bettering students' physical and psychological well-being. Students who can keep up with the most current technological innovations will be able to expand their skills in a variety of disciplines. Many students will also be higher likely to obtain employment since they will be well-versed in the most emerging advancements in multiple areas.

THE ART OF LEADERSHIP IN CHALLENGING TIMES

RICHELLE B. REGIO

Brgy. Bulo, Victoria, Tarlac

The school administrators believe that this century will carry on their reputation and transform the world into a more flowery and luminous place. Every young person can imagine big and follow in their footsteps. School administrators can function as a support system for all prospective school officials and point them in the proper direction.

Once the pandemic burst out, we had no understanding of how an education system could perhaps function. These days, school principals are confronted with the difficulty of developing an imaginative and innovative strategy to enhance students' learning opportunities. Their governance is greatly required in these moments, but how should we implement instructional leadership in the new normal?

Directing in this transformation necessitates a wide variety of skills, such as the capacity to connect individuals to the targets, to believe in an efficient solution to the problem, to be enthusiastic to overcome adversity in this crisis, and to generate ideas and sideways to gain a new understanding, among other things.

Everyone can be a leader, but not everyone can become an excellent leader who can connect with people and persuade them to collaborate; however, if there is a will, there is constantly a means, and there is always further to strong leadership than just that. At the minimum least, if the education system has a competent and efficient leader to direct people, the other students will feel reassured and confident that this is simply a passing phase that will move like a breeze.

Successful school leaders have significant repercussions not just on the group or individuals they control, but as well on their organization in general. Individuals who work for transformational people are satisfied, more constructive, and more committed to their jobs. These characteristics will be represented by the acronym V-G-T-E, which also originally stood for Revolutionary, Advancement, Credible, and Empowering.

To be a great thinker is essential for functioning as a victorious school leader.  Good leadership guarantees the school's and its staff members' development potential. They should indeed be engaged in the achievement and development of their organizations and their staff. A school leader who is frequently noticed stimulates staff members and aims at promoting workforce consistency, composure, and conservation.

Don't ever underestimate the power of a narrow collection of concerned people. Undoubtedly, it is the sole thing that has ever transpired. Interactions are the core components of educational leadership; hardly anything replaces construction and cultivating them.

THE SUPREMACY OF EACH EDUCATIONAL LEADERS

AL JERARD M. SORIANO

San Pablo, Tarlac City

Educators are regarded as the world's and humanity's future, and a leader is regarded as trustable guide for their development. Pupils are confronted with various educators from their school each year. Their presence is widely respected and statesmanlike, so the students all understand who they should acknowledge and look up to.

The ultimate focus of an instructional leader is to have the maximum possible impact on the lives of students. Their power on companions may be brief and inconsequential, but the consequences are massive and can be introduced about a decade into the future. Great governance makes the greatest charitable donation when it is most needed, and it is difficult to determine whether students are functioning well or otherwise without the additional help of skilled leaders.

The effort and dedication a leader provide to lead and carry the entire team and organization to success are what make them dependable and resourceful. School leaders are crucial in providing guidelines and nurturing a supportive atmosphere, including that of the supportive classroom mindset, along with providing assistance and increasing employee loyalty and motivation.

"A good primary mission as a leader is to create an operating environment in which others can do amazing things."As a result, much more effective school leaders provide a perception of direction for the class rather than a clear vision. The current school agency pushes everyone to go beyond their limits in order to ensure that their students' success is not impossible.

The connection between educational command structures and even the path to success is complex, but they are inextricably linked. Leaders should be accessible and available to provide guidance as needed. They must communicate in a way that their employees can understand. Because time is of the essence, taking the time to get to know the people in your organization makes things more straightforward and easier for everyone.

People's perceptions of leadership may change in the twenty-first century, particularly in academic settings. A comprehensive strategy for organizing change and its implications for long-term organizational effectiveness is required for successful leadership. We can define contemporary leadership as a leadership perspective designed to address the distinctive opportunities and challenges of the present era.

The evolution of the smartphone, the new forms of digital as nothing more than a framework, and the infancy of digital networking are just a few of the groundbreaking events that have taken place in the twenty-first century. Being a digitally intelligent and educated teacher rather than a media producer fosters competence because the individual becomes not only a "leader," but also a producer. A technologically advanced school leader must function as the orchestrator who builds and guides everyone to their complete capability.

According to Malcom X, learning is a ticket to the future, and those who, plan for it now will own it later today. Schooling, from the various viewpoints of individuals as well as from various customs and beliefs, is a method of curing a lack of intelligence. Leadership is an actual skill that entails getting the responsibility to use your influence to initiate, instruct, handle, and encourage everyone to step outside of their social circles and expose their true personalities.

School administrators are practitioners who are genuinely enthusiastic about providing the highest quality education to their students, teaching staff, and other school members. A strong leader strives to stand out, achieve results, and maintain victory. Transformational supervision is a school management framework in which a leader works with teachers to provide direction and assistance in the formation of efficient classroom practice.

An information leader encourages and supports educators as they establish their professional skills. Teachers require a wide range of tools and assets in order to carry out their responsibilities effectively. Access to professional growth opportunities, training, and mentorship programs are all examples of how this support can be provided. Top school heads enable educators to partake in career counseling other than those offered by the state.

Four main effective leadership strategies work well in academic settings. Transformational leadership combines the finest qualities of the other types of leadership. Transformational leaders maintain the same concentration on the individual while investing in the institution's ultimate objective and generating acceleration to accomplish it. A servant leader trusts the procedure as well as her adherents completely. Transactional leaders shift the emphasis from the ultimate objective to the individuals being led.

Transactional leadership only appears to work if the leader can maintain the necessary strength of character and social interactions. When transformational leaders screw up, the last resort is frequently transactional leadership, which is simple and effective.

Emotional leadership and transformational leadership share many characteristics. This leadership involves interpersonal leadership to guide subordinates by tapping into their emotional side. Transformational leadership influences students, teachers, and the entire school community, along with a strong sense of unified intention.

There are different types of leaders, each with their own leadership style. On the other hand, some diverse students and teachers require educational leaders to be flexible in incorporating different leadership styles to cater to large numbers of school community members.

The Impact of a Value-Based Educational Leadership

ZWEETSEL JOYCE R. CORPUZ

Values-based educational leadership can have a powerful impact on students, teachers and the overall community. It’s based on three simple values: belief in yourself, respect for others, and responsibility for results.

Value-Based Educational Leadership is a leadership approach which ensures that educational institutions are striving to create an educational environment that helps students reach their personal potential through the integration of ethics, values and psychological growth. The impact of such an approach can be tremendous when compared to traditional management philosophies.

Moreover, a value-based educational leadership framework is one that includes an educational leader's commitment to making a difference in the lives of students. These leaders are more concerned with ensuring that young people leave school capable of entering a workforce where they can make a positive contribution. As part of this commitment, they instill within their employees the desire for personal growth and development, as well as a firm sense of ethics with regard to ethical behavior such as honesty and integrity.

The educational leader’s ability to engage, motivate and inspire others is the foundation of an effective school leadership team. The impact of a value-based educational leadership can be measured through student achievement and the results of the continuous improvement. It is a link between the educational goals, practices and philosophies of a school district into its students’ academic experiences.

Educational leadership is a combination of being a strategic planner and educator, being an administrator and leader, and being a champion for change. It is about developing students, ensuring success for all students, improving schools, and making your own contribution to the educational community.

The lack of a value-based educational leadership is an indication that the educational institution has not been able to align its vision and mission with the general goals of an institution. The problems faced by the educational institutions are even more serious if they have not made sufficient efforts in developing their human resources on value-based leadership principles.

We believe that school leaders should use the value-based work and leadership framework to transform the learning environment. TOGETHER we can create a community which is healthy, happy and learning - where students want to be.
